Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

WDS has announced that their Game of the Week for May 12th-18th is Campaign Bautzen:

I have fond memories of working on this game. I had finished Campaign 1814 in May of 2012 and launched into taking the files I had already assembled for the battles of Bautzen and Lutzen and put them together into this second title that focuses on the Spring Campaign of 1813. One of the last scenarios I played in the club was from this game.

I just shake my head at all of the work that my team and I put into these games starting in 1999 and lasting until 2019 when the last one I worked on, Eylau-Friedland, was published. I was just sharing a screenshot of the Fleurus battlefield with friends of mine. I credit Atle Jensen, who built the Hohenlinden map for RBR and Cezary Pluskwa, who updated the Silesian maps for both Campaign Leipzig and Campaign Bautzen, for inspiring me to put more detail in to the maps of the later games I worked on (Marengo & RBR especially).

I hope that if you do not own this title that you will wander over to the WDS store and pick up a digital copy. Its well worth the investment. (note: my royalties on these games ran out years ago so this is not a plea from me to help the Prussian army recondition the East Prussian Hunting Lodge)

For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:

MDF, VP4LC, NRO, MTD, CMR, PR, MIM, NDM, OMR (ver 4.07)

Fond memories indeed. Hopefully all the newcomers will pick up a copy.
