Image0830 hrs: The opposing armies rain hammer blows upon one another!
Image0845 hrs: Led by the exhortations of their officers the fantassins advance upon the Prussian lines with bayonets gleaming in the morning sun, the cavalerie swing their sabres in valiant charges, and artillery fire rends the earth and air with thunderous clamor!

Salute!

The battle was fierce and lasted for some 111 turns (or the mid-morning of the second day of the campaign).

Prinz Dumas waged a hard and determined fight.

Final tally was as follows:

Fr inf: 11,746/VPs 469 vs Pru inf: 21,704/VPs 868 (1.85 Fr advantage)
Fr cav: 2,804/VPs 672 vs Pru cav: 7,001/VPs 1680 (2.5 Fr advantage)
Fr art: 9/VPs 54 vs Pru art: 118/VPs 708 (13.11 Fr advantage)
Fr leaders: 29/VPs 198 vs Pru leaders: 20/VPs 188 (1.05 Pru advantage)

French Victory Level: 2051 = Major Victory.

L'Chevalier raises a toast first to his honored opponent, and then to the eagle standard which he carries into battle.

Regards,

Salute!

A fell wind blows from the east across the scarred landscape...

But it stirs only ghosts which yet wander the broken fields and haunted woods, seeking haplessly for some shelter whence they can hide from the relentless gaze of the horned hunter and his pack of dire wolf-hounds.

... nothing more than ghosts... and memories of din and carnage from the mighty contest...

Regards,

The reason for this late post is because the game was not 111 turns but 360 and the rules of the club states that"Any player that abandons a game forfeits a Major Victory to his opponent in accordace with the Club Rules. The current Victory Level in the game file has no bearing on the matter. If you abandon a game, you lose, unless your opponent decides to be merciful in the End Game registration.

I have looked at the game in question, Cliff. Todd did not abandon this game. He entered an End Game Result after 111 Turns played which you subsequently approved. This battle was officially ended with the approval of both parties, and has been duly recorded in the Club Records.

Cliff,
you we agreed that I would look into this. If you are not going to give me time to fully investigate this before continuing to post about it why should I bother? Mercy or not, you did agree to end it and it has been several months since the end game form was filed and you just mentioned this a few days ago. I will say more via email but at this point I believe it is best to move on to other opponents with whom you are enjoying your games.
