Maybe genius is to strong of a word for Napoleon Anton, I do think he was gifted in many ways. As I said before you have to look at the man's entire life not just one or two campaigns in isolation. If nothing else he had an amazing capacity for details and an enormous energy for work especially in his younger years. To me his life was quite impressive.

I agree with all your points about the complexity of what makes a good cavalry arm. [:)]
