Hey, didn't you mean Brigadier? You typed Brigand. Yeah, I actually figured that wasn't an oversight.

Speaking of knapsacks, I think I need to start collecting some. Particularly if every one of them contains a magnificant Blue Bug Masher. The winter here was exceptionally mild and the insects are likely to be out in droves. Those magnificent French squashing devices would come in real handy right about July. :P

Why, my dear General Knox, anyone can plainly see by your signature that you desire to be a British officer :o Why, If I am not mistaken, the Chasseur's a Cheval of the Imperial Guard wear a scarlet pelisse. Now, everyone knows that the Your Imperial Poobah loves to wear the undress 'surtout' of the Chasseur's a Cheval hidden under his overcoat. Maybe he likes to wear the pelisse too?

Wooo,.... whats that smell? Is there a litter box around here?

Meow! Josephine lunges across the room sending the Shrike flapping it's wings towards the ceiling. :o The cat raced on by the table of Hanoverian officers, and out thru the doorway.
"So, there good sir, fear not, Josephine is an indoor/outdoor cat, and surely does her business in the wilds of the tavern's environs. Though, considering the conditions of many officers here inside, what with smell and stains of battles, the um... stains of too much drinking, and smell of... you know, after eating... I'm sure you would have been hardpressed to differentiate between lil Josie, and the rest of the crowd. Just saying!

But alas poor Josephine made it but a scant few paces out the door before the Prussian Obersts dog snatched her up and carted her off to the woods making a quick snack of her......I never liked that mangy cat anyway.

My uniform is very representative of France and its glory. My white breaches represent the purity of our cause 8) . My scarlet pellise reflects the blood of many opponents I have spilled on the fields of Europe.

The dark green of my jacket is symoblic of the camoflage like appearance of my forces as they leap from unexpected places to put the enemies of France to the sword. :P My gold lace is to represent the numerous laurels I have won on the long path to joining the Emperors sacred band.

And finally my furry colpak is a reminder of the woman of the various Germanies which we have liberated on numerous occassions

Salute!

Lt. Peccolo, had we the technology to run a DNA test on General Knox's pellise, I believe you would be shocked to see the officers therein represented. Mine lies along the right sleeve, or is it the left breast? I honestly cannot remember now. Understandable as I was suffering from a most severe concussion at the time and light headed from the numerous casualties my poorly led men had incurred.

Well, this time General Knox obvious left you speechless and your response fell short of you usual reportai! Me thinks you have been drinking to much or just need a rest from sharpening you sword or maybe your just worrying about those Tirailluers et Dragons who have placed a bounty on it....

So time for the tired Happy Hanoverian Brigadier to have the Rat help you back to your tent for a rest! But be careful on the ride back to your headquarters we are looking for your red coat!

And I got the right General this time.

Tirailleurs et Dragons it is time to rally and hunt down the evil Mole and in his case let us not leave his head in tacked after we take his sword for Little Josephine was a really good cat and she like to pee on Prussian boots!

Update:
The Chef de Battalion Schimdgall has made his peace with Oberst Walt Markgraf Moehle von Neuhardenberg Kommandeur, so I withdraw my previous statements concerning this Prussian Officer. and now I will go clean the egg off my face!

It is no secret that I hold General Knox and Marechal Bardon in the highest esteem. They are formidable opponents and honorable gentlemen. As I have long said, a Guardsman in any army deserves the respect of all. These are two of the finest guardsman of all. Their choice to serve a doomed empire is most unfortunate, as they would have looked most excellent indeed in the splendid red coats of the Anglo-Allied Army. :P

I would refer the Lieutenant Colonel to the thread A Cat's Paw Tale, Part Two. for an update on Josephine. And the Oberst is sitting right here at the table enjoying a round of drinks he bought for us.
Ah, such a fine Saturday evening here in the Tavern. Jager, a libation I enjoyed in my past with a chaser of Moxie.
Regards,

Then, my good Colonel, it is my sincere hope that you do not find it as the Hanoverian Rat and I are long practiced in collecting French swords together. And as for the magnificent Tirailleurs et Dragons, as much as I genuinely respect your unit, it would seem that I have recently collected the swords of three of its four members. Yours in fact twice, sir.

Now I do find myself wondering where Sir Michael has been hiding. After all, the collection remains incomplete until I can add the fourth, and only, missing blade. :x

Ah well, no time for that now in any case. It will no doubt require my full attention to carry out my current orders and halt the advance of Marechal Bardon's forces into Belgium. It is entirely possible that I may fall in the fight, but I promise you this, I will be facing this most formidable foe when I do and, if he does manage to claim my blade, he will be very, very tired by the time he finally places his hands upon it.

Yes my fine Brigadier you never fail to surprise me on the battle field and with words. In battle I will never surrender and will always Battle On! I must admit you bested me twice and did from both sides of the battle but in the place you really shine, I do surrender and that is in the battle of words for I have seen or read none that best you! Some good shots, but none better!

And thanks for being the Happy Hanoverian Brigadier
