Cliff, which Al are you talking about?

I'm a Russian player with only 20 club games total. I have a 5/1/3/2/9 record with 11 VPs. I play tested Eckmuhl and Wagram many, many years ago.

If the tournament is to be a single David vs a single Goliath, then giving the weaker, less experienced player 2 to 3 greater troops is not unreasonable.

If the tournament is to pair a David with a Goliath, then there is no need to unbalance a scenario.

Not sure what you have against me, but I don't know you, and don't ever purposely pick on you. So chill out. I post freely to the boards as every member can. You do seem to have issue with that, sorry my existence bothers you, but get over it. :-)

"just like Al to come out and say what he said he use to beat young allied players in 20 turns and since he was a play tester and put together most of these games how can he lose." - Sweeney

I don't remember playing "young allied players" when I was a French player some years ago (some 10 games or so, total.) I've already shown the latter part of the statement is false. No scenario I've designed for any of the Napoleonic titles where ever officially published. I am not Bill, and Bill is not me (although our pictures are oddly similar  hehehe...)

If your statement was an attempt at humor, sorry I did not read it that way.

Politely sir, the statement is false, a lie. There is no reason for it. Please withdraw the statement, and conduct yourself politely amongst us here. I have never wished or said ill of you, nor do I now, nor will I. I want you to enjoy the club, as I enjoy it. You have attacked me in this thread with these posts, and have questioned my participation in discussions elsewhere. Please stop. This is a freindly club. Please keep it that way. An apology would be nice, but not necessary.

Major Amos,

would you like to answer me, why did you change the French side to the Allies?
Ancestors? Family? Ethnicity? Ideologies? Betrayal?

"Priwiet" :)

Cezary,

If you had asked earlier, sorry I didn't see the question, but here is the answer.

I wanted to become active again in the club, and it appeared to me that there were always more French players looking for matches than there were Allied players to play in those matches. So I switched. As my record shows I played 8 games as a French player and 12 as a Russian with 5 current games going.

It seems my choice was the correct one.

Col Dumas, salute!

I think you are referring to the infamous French Marechal, AI. 8)

It was this legendary warrior whom whenever the Coalition officers played him - particularly in the Jena-Auerstadt game, they routinely lost in 20 turns or less.

Regards,

The AI, a French Marechal.....really? Wow, you fellows just give those batons away don't you?

And while we are on the subject, can anybody tell me why there are numerous Marechals of France that have less than, in some cases substantially less than, the 2,000 OBD Points required by Club Rules to be eligible for even the consideration of the title Marechal?

Oh yes, a baton in every knapsack, wagon, sleeping bag, cupboard and port-a-potty in France.

I have a guess as to a possible reason for this, but really would like to complete my education with the correct answer. And no, you probably don't want to hear my guess.

Hah, I think Al actually got caught stealing horses from the French army, as he's an Okie and stealing horses just come naturally to them, so he switched sides to avoid the wrath of the gendarmes! :D :D :D
