As already said there are some members who play hardly any of the HPS games. I am one of those who have never played any of these games. Not because I dont like them - simply have not yet got interested in them.
Not sure whether it was CoG-EE or Napoleon´s Campaigns that got my in concact with this club when I was looking for opponents. Have played only three games of NC as it tunred out not to be very challenging. But I play CoG-EE for years now. At the moment Monte and I are involved in two games and Monte manged to get some new guys interested in it who are now playing their first pbem. Hope to see them here sooner or later.
As NC was disappointing but has some undevelopped potential I kept an eye on it. MotE is not a successor as it is not turn-based any more and is more or less a part of a series including Crusader Kings and EU-IV as it seems. I have to admit that I have EU-III and Crusader Kings but have played both only fro some hours. They need much time to learn. Starting EU-III playing Spain I went bankrupt quite early. Playing CK I started as a duge in Denmark and was outmanoeuvered by the AI quite soon. So I put it aside as well. But I think both game have a lot of potential and I will play both of them the next month.
The last years I have played Advanced Tactics and other turn-based WW-II games intensively. Still want to play them. But I have left aside Napoleonic games and (ashamed to say) hardly visited the tavern. It is time to show some more presence here and to enjoy some of the Napoleonic games.
Something else I have to confess (it is time to put it all on the table and declare myself guilty now!

). I have been in team of beta testers of Commander - Napoleon at War. But when it was released I did not ask for the game. Playing WW II games I was used to have several armies fighting at different fronts at the same time. Testing mainly the Russian campaign (blame it on me if it is not well done

) I was disappointed having mainly one large army, being unable to use some smaller corps for widespread outflanking operations or rapid bypassings. But one large army trying to force the enemy to fight or try to avoid a major battle that is what the Russian campaign was about. Now I regret not having played that game after the release. And playing CoG-EE is much about operation with few large armies trying to be at the prepared and standing at the right place when things heat up. CoG-EE has more depth as it offers more options for diplomacy, trade and developments. Things I missed in the Commanders game. But it is a good game for strategical warfare anyway.
Lets see what MotE is about. Guess it will not be possible to play small campaigns in a 1vs1-game. Although it might be possible to start at 1812, I guess the whole map and all playable nations will be activated instead of concentrating on Russia only. I have not yet found any information about smaller campaigns. But EU-III and CK dont offer smaller scenarios with only small parts of the map being active. Getting 8 players for a realtime game will be difficult. But I am member of German group playing RTS games like the TW series and nearly all Paradox games. Maybe some guys are interested not only in playing but might as well like to visit the tavern and meet some other players here.
However, MofE is a Napoleonic times game and we are a NW club. So where is a better forum than this one to talk about this game, might it be added to the list of club games or not.
(Btw, have to confess I got HistWars as well, but played only a small battle against the AI.

)
