1000 My unit was close to our objected at the top of this hour still no cannon fire or French Dragoons to the Southeast.
1015 Half of my command was left to their task and a few units and my escort moved east to hold that territory till the rest of the command rendezvous with us. Image
1015Prussian Kavalerie sqdn and some Jagers have been seen moving into L’ Helmitage woods northwest of the village of Mellery!
The dragoon scout “asked himself was that the famed Prinz Dumas”
ImageImage1015 The French Armee of 8 battalions plus Cav support where still moving north towards Genappe.
1030 L’ Gran Armee changed from moving North to east at this half hour. My command was still heading south to a rendezvous with the rest of this command I now had 500 Jagers and my escort of 50 Kavalerie. We left our cannons and 1000 men at the first rendezvous they would join us after their task was completed, we where still short of the II Corps and the Death head Hussars.

1045 with the information I was given I at once sent couriers to all my commanders to meet me at the double at the rendezvous, could this be news of a offence being plan or is this an order to be on the alert of a French offended move?
1100 All forward units where now under my command; we were now to move forward and engage the enemy!
1115 French Heavy Kavalerie has been sighted and we moved to battle.
Image1115 At the village of Marbais French cavalerie ambushed two Prussian Kavalerie Sqdns that was deep behind our lines, they the Prussians were fleeing from another maneuvering force of French Cheval.
In the close quarter fighting that followed a French colonel was killed as he led his men to Victory…

Salute!

June 15th, 1815
13:30 hrs: There is much activity on the wide spread campaign front as the advanced guards clash, and scouts gather intelligence on the enemy dispositions and deployments.

The sound of musket fire echoes through the clear afternoon air as fantassins hunt down and dispatch the scattered Prussian kavalerie platoons that seek to escape the net of entrapments closing about them.

On a distant high ridge a Prussian Lt Bn was drawn dangerously near to the Legere Div of Garde Cavalerie.
The Chasseurs a Cheval Garde fell back under fire, closing ranks before the approach of enemy lancers.

Suddenly, twin horse-batteries unlimbered and delivered case-shot directly at the Prussian Lt Bn, and then with the clarion sound of bugles two Regts of Garde Lancers charged and drove back the foe with much loss of life!

Regards,

1215 My units in the rear were finishing their task at this time and moving towards the rendezvous! We lost contact with our most forward Kavalerie unit I can only suppose that they are all dead or in the hands of the French.ImageFrench Hussars were out and about and captured a detail of Prussian Videttes who where spying on our movements around the Town of Nivelles The French Heavy 4th Cavalerie Div under Edouard Jean Baptiste Milhaud was spotted by our Lights Videttes this half hour moving fast towards our forward position North on the pike from the Town of Nivelles.Image

1230 Our light battalions are battling the French Dragoons at this half hour on the road from the town of Nivelles more of our troops are pouring into this area the Commander of that flank is Kavallerie Lt General Roeder. Image
1245 The French Cavalerie Div that was in front of us on the road from the town of Nivelles was under the command of Pierre Benoit Soult General of Division 4th Cavalerie Div brother to the famous hero of 1805. We mean to hold the territory between the village of Ophaim and Genappe.
ImageOur spies report that the Dragoons could be General de Brig Berruyer’s of the 7th e we could be facing Marechal Ney and his two Corps of the I under Gen Div d’ Erlon and the III under Gen Div Vandamme .

Image1300 the skirmish on the Pike north of Nlvelles threatens to grow into something large; bloodier was the report from Marechal Ney to the Empereur.
1300Image1300 I sent the IR29 II Bergisches Fus to hold the French Cuirassier’s at bay till reinforcements could reach them some where south of Neuvecourt.
Image
1315 One thing that I became aware of while I was at the Prussian Headquarters that was FM Blucher our Kommandeur was not the Great commander that I thought he was all he did was chase the woman of the camp and drink his self to sleep the real power was in his Chief of staff GeneralLt. August Grff Von Gneisenau and Major General Von Grolmann …

1330 It was not strange that I out ranked him for my commission came from the King of Prussia for what I did in 1806 as Major in the Leichtes Garde-Kavallerie Regt. Since then I was in the Royal Court of the King of Prussia. ImageImage

1400 One of the Videttes Sq actual charged 4sq of French Cuirassier’s that stood in front of the road to Neuvecourt, outstanding, "how the French could put shock troops in that formation Lt General Roeder told me" as we watched the action!Image

Salute!

June 15th, 1815
15:15 hrs: In his battle HQ L'Empereur reviews the campaign map as his staff mark it up with the most recent intelligence reports received from the front lines and the scouts even further afield.

The Prince de Moskowa from his command with the Left Wing is reporting a strong enemy presence along the pike north of Nivelles, centered around the chateau of Neuvecourt...
This line stretches back to the right towards the hamlet of Ophaim with it's own chateau, and on their left to the hamlet of Maison du Roi.

Marechal Grouchy from his command with the Right Wing is reporting that the fantassins are in contact with Prussian troops on a wide front stretching from Maison du Roi on the left to Bousval on the right.
Including observing a strong line of the foe above the former at Belle Alliance and Plancenoit.

And furthermore, that scouts have sighted the foe in the northwest in the vicinity of Mont St Guibert.

Regards,

1530 on my right flank the Image French III Corps are flanking my position and my small Jagers companies are falling back some out of ammo others were routed.
My Kavalerie Arm moves away safely and the Light Infantry still hold the road to Neuvecourt. Image
1545 The situation on this front still stays the same I hope my details in the rear have completed their job.Image
1600 My skimmers that held the road to the Hamlet called Ophaim have all but routed from the pressure of the French III Corps.
