I've never encountered a club member tryung to skew any game by using the slider or by altering files without thier opponent's consent. It really isn't an issue, but those courses of action do exist, as does deciphering your opponent's password, but most (if not all) club members refrain from such behavior.

I have seen were I send a file and name and my opp sends me back a different file and name. What he did was tack my file and saved it then made a new file and name.

that unto itself is evidence of nothing. You have changed the file names I have sent you! Well, at least the zip folder name but I think too the file names. One problem in these games as that different designers use different PDT's. Coalition artillery is lethal in Austerlitz but underwhelming in 1815, at least for the Brits. Thus, you get inconsistent losses from title to title and it can look nefarious...

Hey, Al, I am very glad to hear that the club members are not using such sinister tactics. I would hate to think that they would.

BTW - If we ever play a game together, you wouldn't mind if I "pat you down" first would you? You seem to know far too many underhanded tricks and one just can't be too careful these days.

Mon Commander of the famous Austrian armee that is true changing the file or name is not bad in it's self but what we have here is.When you go into the game it self and increase what should not be increase. I have never myself had any problems with any one that I have played over the years. An I can't for the life of me understand why these Hangovers are starting this up. Now Turn over twice Bill might seem like the one you might have to look over your shoulder twice but it's just a game to me beat me up and lets play again. Now when they start giving up Standards and colors then we are playing for something. I have almost 2000 points but not one standard or Color I have a few wins but still I don't own any one else Colors or Standards. The French Regts pride was the capture of these things not make believe swords!

If my memory serves me correctly Washington, Wellington, Churchill and Roosevelt all "cheated". They all gained major advantges through some type of espionage.

Naked....yeah, I kinda suspected that about you, Al. Well, to each his own I suppose. It really does not affect me either way, well, at least until you install a webcam that is.....

And my dear Colonel Marbot, you give me far too much credit I am afraid. The Hanoverians did not start the discussion about slider bars and file manipulations. I, for one, did not really even remember that a slider bar existed in these games as I never use it, not even for AI play (which I find no need for since joining the NWC). No, I am afraid that you must turn you eyes upon our clothesless comrade to discover the true generator of this mischief. Naked Al is obviously an instigator, something of which we docile and soft spoken Hanoverians would know nothing about.

I always make sure the slider is moved over in my favour. Mark surely you noticed in our last game?

I knew, I knew, I knew it!!! My incompetent play has never held me back as much as it did in our game. Now that I know you cheated like a sorry dog, it all becomes clear!

Although, I have to honestly say that I still do have my doubts about the veracity of your cheating ways. The slider bar could not have been responsible for your most excellent movements. No my friend, I am afraid that the honest truth is that you are a truly phenomenal player who justly earned my sword. <Salute>

The "naked" truth is my computer is in the living room, so I wargame as I watch TV with my wife and four kids, so "proper attire" is required.

Famous Amos does it again another Allied bite the dust when are you Allied players go to learn just because he's a Col doesn't mean he has no game he put the game in game. I started in 2000 and he was a Col then!

I never cheat unless I want to win. And since I want to win every game I cheat often!

Honest, the slider bar actually means that you get the ice cream truck later in your neighborhood the more you slide it in your favor. So if you are prone to doing that ... no snow cone for you!
