I used to play shuffle board as a kid, and curling looks like a more intense, macho, and frozen version. Looks like fun...

So the scenario was biased toward those who curl, and against those who play rugby? Correct? [:p]

BTW, glad to see curling is not anything like hurling. hehehe....

It is a game in which huge burly mem in tiny little shorts tackle and grope one another over an elliptoid object which looks ver similar to an American football.[:X][:0]

Ed you forgot to mention that Rugby players don't wear girly padding and helmets and stop all the time to change from one type of team to the other.[:D].

Colin,

So long as the players remember to tape back their ears and wear a mouthguard. The scrum can be a dangerous place.

Cheers.

The scrum indeed is a dangerous place, as the x-ray of my spine can attest. I've heard it described as one man trying to shove two men up three other men's backsides.

Neville I played on the wing. In the short shorts with the blonde hair! Glad I was not in the dark engine room that is the scrum. Home to dark arts perfected by the mighty All Blacks.

Colin and Neville,

I played 2nd row , #4. So, the inner workings of a scrum are painfully familiar.

Cheers.

<br />Andy,

There is a bit more history than the game namely Paco has taken a comment I made months ago, about the spanish during the Napoleonic wars, as a personal issue.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Col. Elwood,

If there is an "issue" between us, it is entirely on your part. Until you mentioned it in this post I had completely forgotten that you were the author of the comments that I had previously found offensive.

As to my description of our MOE4 encounter, if you perceived it as unduly harsh please accept my apology. I specifically did not identify who my opponent was to spare you any embarrasment.

Regards,

Paco
