Approximately this way begins the regimental song of the First Russian Regiment - Preobrazhenski. It was raised in village Preobrazhenskoe not far from Moscow (Nowdays it's within the city radius - Preobrazhenskaya square is the place's contemporary name). The regiment was the First in all the aspects - it had the longest regimental history, it was the best in maneuvers and most importantly the best in battle.

It is my pleasure to announce that for his long and very successful services to Him Majesty and Motherland Major-General Alexandr Zaytsev is assigned to command the First Russian Regiment.
