Please excuse my ignorance about the following issues.

When one fights a campaign with an HPS game, and battle is joined, must one use the HPS game to resolve the battle? Would it be possible to use the HPS system for campaigning and Les Grogs to resolve battles? That would involve exporting OoBs and importing the results...

I am sure that a new campaign could be designed to accomodate another battle engine game but currently I can think of no way to allow for the campaign engine to send you to the right branch based on the outcome other than to do massive redesign on the current campaign file.

You would have to tell the player in the Outcome text which map to fight on, where the troops would be deployed, etc.

Talk about a texting nightmare!

But I am sure that some of your teenagers at home probably type that much text in a day on their cell phones! [:D]

You might hire one of them to do all of the typing for you! [:p]

Bummer, though not a surprise. I've just read a that great little book: AUSTERLITZ: Napoleon and The Eagles of Europe by Ian Castle and I can see that you've done brilliant work in the Austerlitz pack. *major pout* Wish the two could mesh a la 'Campaigns on the Danube'.

Castle's book is good but Robert Goetz' work 1805:Austerlitz is superior. If you dont have Goetz' book on the campaign/battle you must get it.

Mr. Goetz is a real nice guy who corresponded with me on his work during the time I did the design work. He got a copy of the game as a token of his offering to help out. (so did Scott Bowden for that matter)

Paco put me on to the book and was a great help in helping me sort out all of the various squadrons, officer names and what have you.

Question: is there any reason why you dont put your real full name in your signature?

Well, actually I was rather too engaged helping out @ histwar with manuals and wotnot to fully revisit my NWC persona. I shall do so presently, mon general. :) Not quite sure what the full rigmarole would be too! *take pity on me, I'm just a lowly newbie! I'll polish myself up tout suite!*

btw, thanks for the heads up about Goetz. Happily he is one of my 'Xmas presents' currently making its way from England to Australia to be devoured by me in the new year! I can't tell you how much I respect the 'heritage' & knowledge-base of the veterans at NWC. Very proud to have been accepted here & trained by Gen. Zaitsev & to have the chance to battle here. :)

Do not be too zealous with polishing. Or, with these polish sentiments, you may end up guarding the wagons. [;)]

Enjoy the Club! As long as you do not violate its rules and beat the froggies we do not actually care what are you doing out there.
