Guys - I have looked on the Hist War website but after only a cursory glance I cannot find Demo 2. Demo 1 is still available but I would like to know if there is a link to where I can download the Demo 2.

I just want to look at the game for myself (as it regards graphics) to see if maybe the screenshots are not showing off the beauty of the game. So far I am not impressed in that regard but perhaps if I play the game the graphics will appear different on my PC.

Demo 2 not ready for public Bill, the ones who pre-ordered the game played it. JMM now working on it for the public.

Honestly i dont spend so much time on 3d view. Personally i play it on 2d view so graphics become not very important after you play it sometime.

Hans - I had thought of doing the same thing. The 2D view looks basic enough that it will not affect my eyesight.[;)]

Actually, I was thinking the other night that the 2D view in LG wasn't that different from those in HPS.

Someone commented that they wanted a General-Captain command game (like HPS) where you get to be Napoleon all the way down to each skirmisher leader @ Borodino. Not quite my taste but you can do the settings in LG to get something similar. You can choose no order delays & immediate communications so that you can order individual regiments to do whatever and expect they will start to execute the order within the next 15 minute turn. This may allow some of the micromanaging that you are used to. Of course, you also get the bonus of ordering higher units to achieve objectives as well and don't have to move them all (great for bring up reserve corps with a single order, at the very least!).

The v.1b patch that is being distributed with the hard-copies of the game now apparently also allows you to have the game full screen or - as Bill likes them to be - contained in a window. Another nice step forward, it seems. :)

I don't know what's happening with the demo. I know the physical shipping was occupying JMM first. In all honesty (and ignorance) I suspect it's not the highest priority. V.1 was rushed out to reassure people after the break up with BTS. It was a mixed success. Rumour now is that Matrix has/will pick up the game distribution later this year. I expect a demo will be on the cards then.
