From the above link - the customer found that his battles were incredibly bloody. Sound familiar? [;)]

I have always wished that our melee routine in the HPS series could be modified to include less causalities and the possibility that the attacker take far few losses when its a run over.

But it looks like JMM is having problems of his own in this area. Quite a few others too from what the forum says.

One thing I remember about Talonsoft Battleground Waterloo is that you could play the game right out of the box. Yes, updates came out but they included less bug issues than what we see in many of the games of this era.

For the size of the community that tested this game (man, I wish that I could have had that many testers for Austerlitz!) it sure continues to be buggy. In particular I am noting that unit behavior is still erratic. Most of us would like to see a game that could move our units in a historical manner and not have them wander away or attack targets that are low odds (just to name a few).

If anyone other than Harry has been playing this game could you give us more updates on your gaming experience. The club has accepted the game (though I note that the thread that John posted is not at the top anymore nor could I find it in the last four pages of threads) and any information on it at this time from you other guys that have it would really help the rest of us decide if we will buy it.

For me the graphics are a big negative - I prefer the Total War graphics frankly - and the lack of being able to play it in a Window (at least that is what I am seeing from the screen shots - correct me if I am wrong) also dissuades me but I would like to hear something from you other guys on the game. Are you enjoying it? Does it move the units like you wish it would?

Please give more feedback on the game. Its out and is it worth the purchase. Please, no partisan voices. We all know how Harry feels about the game. I would like some impartial views from people that bought the game and if you DONT like it please keep your comments civil. This is a fair and impartial request.

Napoleonics is a passion with me - I loved to play miniatures - and besides the HPS games I have other computer games and many boardgames on the subject. If this game works and they clean up the graphics I will buy it.

I am not a very experienced Histwar player but currently running 2 pbem games. After todays patch (2nd update) there are still orders/movement problems. Some more people still wait for another fix for pbem/mp games but some like to help JMM about the problems and have some fun with the current version.
