Gen. Jon Thayer beat me soundly in our Battle of Caldiero from the Italian Campaign of the Austerlitz game. I came out early to play and his ruffians (cavalry) handled my Austrians (er, sort of tells you something) brutally.

Jon plays a good game and while probably not as familiar with the campaign situation scenario his French legions took it to me.

This was a Major Victory for him and it ended the campaign. I probably will adjust this as the rest of the campaign involves more units joining the theater and I think that one battle of this nature should not end the campaign. But be that as it may Jon routed me well and I now must come up with a way to regain my honor! So we will fight on in another battle and this time I hope to regain the honor that I lost on the fields of Caldiero.

Good job Jon!

I managed a minor victory there (playing the Austrians side) and it is indeed an enjoyable scenario. How far away do you think we are from having a new patch for Austerlitz (even a very rough estimate), given that you've identified a few things that you intend to change?

The next set of updates for the titles I did will come out after our next release is out. When is that? Sheesh, you got me. Even if I had everything done for the next title there are still things out of my control and this kind of announcement is left in the hands of John Tiller or Rich H. by John's approval.

We have put out updates prior to game releases but it usually robs the next release of a little "thunder" - new features get out into an update rather than a new title and John prefers the new stuff to carry the punch rather than some "fix" to a game.

Keep your eyes on the JTS website. Once the next title is released you will know that an update is not far off. Well based on John's time that is. I know that I will be working hard to get all of my past games corrected once and for all for this next set of updates ...
