I'm thinking of becoming active again. I've been French almost my entire NWC career, but since there are more French players than Allied ones (correct?), I'm thinking of joining an Allied army, but which one?

I fancy myself a cavalryman, I was a dragoon in France and the US (Wo1812 CCC). What cavalry posts are open in the Allied ranks? Any good dragoon regiments available? Perhaps a pretty hussar one?

Hmmmm...

Any ideas? Offers? ;-)

Al, the only cavalry unit that is available in the Anglo-Allied Army in the 23rd Regiment of Dragoons, 3rd Brigade, Cavalry Division, II Corps. We would need to confirm with Marco, but to my knowledge, no one is currently scheduled for assignment to this unit.

Al,

We have to offer three dragoons regiments (two simply very good and one, Chernigov, covered with everlasting glory of Schengrabern and motto "Five against thirty" on the coveted St.George standards) and Lithuanian uhlans. In case you are sick and tired with european regularity there are also several cossacks regiments.

Er hem, the illustrious Lithuanian Uhlans are currently taken, my general. But indeed the glorious Chernigov are awaiting a leader worthy of them!

(Nevertheless, this is a nudge to get registering battles, eh!)

The Prussian army has room for the illustrious Al Amos! There is an Uhlan regiment wide open that would accept Herr Amos as their commander.

And we could play in MP games together and strike fear into the hearts of all Europe with our exploits!

Amos and Handy!

Since you live in Oklahoma Al you may not realize that the rest of the world has advanced beyond having to travel on horseback.

Al,

One word: Prussia

After all we all know that Prussia won the Napoleonic Wars in the end.....

Your unit awaits:

6. Ulanen-Regiment (Lützow)

The famous Lützow Freikorps unit!

Check out the website if you haven't been there lately:

http://scott-ludwig.com/NWC/Prussia/

Also our Guard Cavalry units are wide open for when you get to that level.... :D

Plus you'd be with the finest company of men this Club can offer...Bill & I!! :D   8) :x

Our Army is the Best the Allies Can Offer!!

Well Al...your points would be cut in half regardless of which army you go to:

So you had 328 in the French = 164 points.

Which would only make you a 1st Lieutenant in the Austrians, Dutch, Anglo Allies & a Major in the Russians....

BUT!! A Oberstlieutnant (Lieutenant Colonel) in Prussia With only 36 more points until being back to Colonel or Oberst in our army.

Plus your 6 VP's, will put you in easy distance to a Guard unit and some very nice medals....

No other army can match that!

Don't think we are easy though, we have many, MANY medals that you can earn and are hard to get.....

A brief (*updated) summation of Herr Windbag's salient points:

1) The Prussians have 1* guard cavalry officer   (seriously, no big shock there. )

2) The army with only 1* guard cavalry is the best the allies can field (Good to see that the allies are willing to admit that their best, well let's face it, their best just ain't that good :P  )

Cheers!

Actually we do have a Guard Cavalry officer:

http://scott-ludwig.com/NWC/Prussia/Garde.htm

Our Guard is very large and our number of officers is medium range. We require the officers to be at least Generalmajors, lowest level of generalship. We do tend to waive the 20 VP's needed to entry if the person is a Generalmajor and shows a lot of effort in the Armee. Usually a Nobility titile will come first, as that is based on rank....of which, yes Al, you'll be given a title when you join us....

We have a fresh class of officers whom are close to joining our Guard, so I would assume that some cavalry units will fill up.

Unlike the French, we don't have just any Jerome, Louis or Joseph in our Guard.....

This is kind of fun and funny.

No special titles or bending of club rules required.

I may just join the Danish navy. :-)

My apologies to Herr Chimara. I imagine he is quite lonely being the sole equestrian in your guard.

Should Al choose the dark side and pursue this unwise path to its inevitable calamitous and utterly defeated 1806 style conclusion, at least he may find some company.
