Hi!

Not that it is of any hurry or great importance, but I see that I have two finished games from May (confirmed by the players) that are still not confirmed by a mod.

Just wondering if it's a problem on my end.

The mod ( me ) is currently in China on vacation.

I will deal this when I get back

Cliff, you may continue to register the games while John is on vacation. You will not get the credit for them for the purposes of your Battle Record, promotions, etc until he officially approves them. This is the DoR System updates that are handled by the Club President. I did previously identify and address my intentions relative to this particular issue in my campaign speech as follows:

As Club President, I will do the following:

Regularly update the DoR System for registering battles – I will keep the system current to within 1 to 2 days.

I will deliver on this promise if elected. Short of that, I currently have neither the authority nor the authorization to fix any of this, but I will certainly follow through if the membership sees fit to elect me to the Club Presidency.

I was trying to register a game and did everything that it ask for but when I was finish and tried to apply it no results???? I can't understand why the games most be approved they are finish or they are not??? Getting tired of people starting a game then after a month of playing they go AWOL without notice! So I will just put in major victory and move on!

Cliff, you should be able to Apply your entry so that it will be sent to John for confirmation. Are you saying that you cannot Apply it at all so that it is sent to the moderator? The reason I ask is that I was not being given the option to Apply the game I was trying to set up for Tony Lafferty.

If we are simply waiting on John, that's OK. I imagine it does take a little while to fluently master the Chinese language and I am sure that John will not return until he has done so. If, however, you are not able to Apply your entry so that it is forwarded to the moderator, we need to get Dominik involved to find, and fix, the problem.

John, if you are reading this post, please know that I am totally jealous of you right now. I did quite a bit of world travel before the wife and kids came along, but I never did make it to China. My engineering mentor extensively traveled the world as well, and made it to China twice before passing away. He always said that it was one of his very favorite places. I really want to hear of your many exploits when you return but, if you would be so kind, only in English please. If you relate them to me in Chinese, I am afraid that I may not absorb much of the adventure.

Just to clarify something.

The fact that I am NWC president AND confirming end games is only a coincidence.

The truth is that I am a super moderator on the NWC DoR and one of the few who can perform this function.

Once my term is over, the function of confirming moderated games is still mine and not transferable to the new president.

Hmmmm, that is not the way I remember it, John. I know that I did not assume what the duties of the Club President entailed, I actually asked for a listing before I agreed to run for the office to ensure in my own mind the additional duties I was agreeing to undertake.

Fortunately, I keep meticulous records. I will look back to refresh my memory on this particular issue in order to identify the source of my apparent misunderstanding.

Thanks for your clarification pertaining to this matter.

3.2.2 - Club President

Elected by the NWC club members and serves a 1 year term.

Acts as chair for all cabinet meetings.

Acts as the board administrator for the NWC Forum boards.

Acts as chief spokesman for the cabinet.

Overall coordinator for club activities. With organizers, determines officially sanctioned tournament schedule. Sets the agenda for all Cabinet meetings. Requests information and feedback from Cabinet Members as required.

Settles any disagreements between Cabinet members.

Decides when discussion is done and calls for a vote. Counts the vote and announces the result.

Submit quarterly article on club to newsletter reflecting on overall status of club and any short-term plans and projects.

Per the Club rules: http://users.telenet.be/fsg/NWC/Rules.html

I personally think there needs to be more than one person confirming results, not that John is doing a bad job, but delays in results will kill gaming & the Club in the long run.....

I could care less, Mark, who confirms the games as long as it gets done. That being said one less thing for the President to do (this confirm thing) is fine with me and allows that person to concentrate on more important things. Like making sure Helga is supplied with a generous amount of lemonade on tap for yours truly!

Helga, another round of lemonade for me. Oh yes, and one for Herr Corbin too for being so kind as to posting on this forum DURING HIS VACATION!

Go easy on John, guys. He is in China, the club will not fold or die in his absence.

If I do manage to make the cut, John and I will congenially work something out. Everyone who wants to perform produtive work for the club should certainly be allowed to do so. Goodness knows there is plenty to do, and we sure don't need to be turning down good help. :P :P :P

I will personally do everything I can to make sure that the supply wagon of fresh lemons makes it through the lines for you, Herr General. Even if that means assigning a Hanoverian escort to discourage any would be bandits.
