For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:

MDF, VP4LC, NRO, MTD, CMR, PR, MIM, NDM, OMR (ver 4.07)

The Cabinet did actually post a note on this matter........at the very same time as this one.

The delay was due to the fact that this is Friday, and I have been tied up for the last twelve hours with my real job and meetings with Clients and Contractors. I am still at work even now.

I know that you have all grown accoustomed to my often immediate response, but that is just not always possible. There are a huge number of demands on my time, this club being only one of them. My sincere apologies for any inconvience this may cause.

We will resolve the DoR issue as quickly as possible, but are handicapped at the moment by Chuck Jensen's real life issues. He is a critical participant in this matter, and it will not likely be resolved until he can return to us. I honestly do not know when that will be at this time. Please be patient. We will resolve this issue, but it will not be immediately. In the meantime, as Al Kling is so fond of saying, "Battle On!" I would only add that you have fun as well.

For those who are curious DoR was locked at roughly about 6am EST Today. It would of been hard with it being a work day for Mark, myself & other Cabinet members to get the word out. I too had an extremely busy day. So we are thankful that everyone has been cool with it & no one made a big deal out of it closing while we work on the issue.

We thank you all for your continued patience on this. Chuck really does need to be a part of the discussion as Mark has stated.

Have any of you guys ever played a game called, Junta? It involves revolving coups where you overthrow the government and stash as much money as possible before you are overthrown in turn.

I used to play that with some buddies back at HMGS. We had a fellow named Jim Lowe that would have you in stitches by the end of every game. He brought his little green, Castro hat, smoked a fine Cuban cigar, and swore that all of us were his "Buddies for Life" as he kept stealing all of our money while liberally encouraging us to kill each other. If we all ever make it to Nashcon, I will introduce you to The Jim Lowe. After all, he and I are......you guessed it........Buddies for Life!

Haha nice Mark. Speaking of Castro related things, I used to play Risk with my childhood friends back home and when our one friend was in his 20's he had a beard and I had an old Castro style military hat and stick a cigar in his mouth it really was a funny sight.....

I owned Junta but as usual ... when I bought a game ... and brought to the club ... one of three things would happen.

1. "Yes, we played that, its unbalanced and we will never play it again." DER - just balance it and quit tossing away your money ... was what I was thinking.

2. "What's that? Junta? Don't know any Junta!"

3. "Sorry we are tied up with War in Europe for about five years! (the club only met for about four hours on a Friday night - that was my fav. comment)

I was a die hard miniatures fan as once you painted those babies your investment was used over and over again.

And no, none of us smoked a cigar and wore a beard. But we did have a crazy Scotsman that ran the group wild with his bagpipe music!

"THE PIPES!" he would cry as some ancient ditty was churned out of his stereo.

Ah, sometimes it made me want to do an Irish jig on his British castings.

So who won the argument?

C'mon guys, we see the activity. Must be someone being trashed.

"Last we found us wondering if Mark was going to create a new Cabinet position in order to gain a vote."

"As I said last month I am for Lake Garda," says Jeka.

"Yeah, me too," says John.

"WHO ASKED YOU?" says the other members.

"I still think that Monaco would be more in line with our motto - never waste club funds - always use them freely!" says Chuck (having woken up)

"Is it time for lunch yet?" says John.

"QUIET!!!"

"Scott - has the Prussian army decided to add in that 1806 army corps?" asks Chuck.

That reminds me of a really dear gaming friend of mine named, Mike Brewington. I can hear Brew saying exactly that in between long, pitiful wails of "What are ya pickin' on me for?" Ah, I miss old Brew. Another one that is sure to attend Nashcon. First class guy for sure.

No, I do believe that your Cabinet is infinitely more fun than ours. We are trying to liven things up a bit now though. Chuck and Scott have agreed to engage in a mud wrestling match while wearing pink and blue tutus. I am voting for Scott of course, whereas John is certain that Chuck will emerge the victor. Marco is still undecided and Jeka has been elected to hold the money. Speaking of which, has anybody seen Jeka lately? Uh-oh.

A Russian holding the treasury ... is MUCH safer than a Cuban smoking a cigar and wearing a huge beard.
