Does this value have effect whenever a unit makes a morale check (including changing formation in a threat zone and if line infantry disorder optional rule is in effect) or only when a morale check is made due to fire or melee combat or a rout check?

From my experiences it has no effect on chances of changing formation

Warren - this is a question for Support. Experience cannot know what the die rolls are based on as we never see the "verbose" text during those tests.

For Club Games: I prefer the Single Phase mode of play. I prefer to play with the following options OFF:

MDF, VP4LC, NRO, MTD, CMR, PR, MIM, NDM, OMR (ver 4.07)

"It only applies to combat such as fire, melee, and rout checks, not
line disorder or formation checks."
