I believe what would help the morale system for the Nap series would be to have an averaging die instead of a straight d6.

The dice would be 10 sided. Here would be the values:

1
2
3
3
4
4
5
6
7
10

This way even the Old Guard could rout.

But I am not the greatest statistics guy so probably some adjustments would be needed to the numbering.

Or even go with a 20 sided die:

2
2
3
3
3
4
4
4
5
5
5
6
6
7
7
8
8
9
9
10

Again, not making a defense for my numbers. Just tossing out some values.

Ah, the old 10 & 20 sided die. The Tirailleur officer is now rummaging thru his old chest of games ('cuse me Josephine), there they are, the olde Dungeons & Dragons books. Now, if only L'Empereur had fire wielding efreets at Waterloo, how different things could have been. This officer can imagine Marechal Ney with a vorpal blade before the gates of La Haye Sainte.... Pardon my digression to early childhood gaming memories. :D

Wouldn't matter. Ney would mess up the survival roll.

And Blucher would roll to get his d100 hit point dragon to ride on!

Sorry French members. Waterloo still a loss! :D

L'Empereur, at his petite maison at La Belle Alliance, is heard to ask over the roar of the battle, "de la Bedoyere, where is that potion of heroism +3?"

...as somewhere near Mont St. Jean, the Duke of Wellington calmly unpacks his Sphere of Annihilation.
