I did up a quick set of 2D Zoom In View graphics for the tiles. This has a "flat" look to the tiles - no grain. Let me know what you think.

What I did was take a sample of each tile and then put a 30 pixel circle into each tile. There are portions of the tile that needs touching up as you may see in the next couple of pics:

First, the default 2D Zoom In View with hex outlines:

Next, the new look but with the hex outlines:

Lastly, the new look without the hex outlines:

Is this something you would prefer to use over the default graphics?

This is just for the basic background tiles. None of the other terrain types were touched up. Obviously I need to finish off the graphics before I would upload it for you guys to use.

Question: Has someone already put out a "flat" look 2D View for the graphics?

Let me know what you think of this work. if nothing like this exists I would then finish off my set. If you know of a set that has this look point me to where I can download it (a link if you have it, please).

I personally like the hexes myself. Probably harkens back to the day of an old boardgamer. A hexagon is my favorite geometric shape.
