You must be getting a VERY large screen area. I remember the first time I opened up the games on my 22 inch monitor. All I could say was "Wow!"
I could suggest a few things:
1. Reduce the graphics acceleration. Sometimes folks have it set to the highest level. This can eat up video RAM and leave little else for the large sized 3D files that are loaded when you start up your game.
2. Try using a lower resolution.
3. Make sure you have the latest video drivers. Yes, there is an issue with the NVidia drivers and the JTS games. Especially for games like Leipzig or REN which used large graphics files. The newer Main Program files now use CGI - John went away from DirectX (as from what he said Microsoft no longer supports it) and this is what is causing the slowness of the Main Program when you go to move units or launch scenarios. The first time I noted this was with the 1914 WW1 game that he put out around the time of Tiller Con 3. Those scenarios take a long time to launch. I have a AMD Quad Core CPU which is very fast but the newer Main Programs do run slower. And all of the updates to the games will turn out doing the same thing.
Settings for #1 and #2 are found in the video display properties OR you may have a special control panel dialog that you need to use for your video card.
