So yeah my birthday gift from my computer was to up and die.... :evil:

So thankfully I have an old desktop for now as I don't have funds slotted for a new PC at the moment, wasn't expecting it to die. But alas it doesn't have working Internet....so.....things will be an issue for me for a while in terms of games and updates... :(

Static shock maybe? It was loading up, went to my log in screen and just shut off and won't power on now....

Yes, you might just have a loose connection too.

Another tip: turn off and on the switch on the back of the case. That sometimes resets the system state. Unplug the power cord too.

Power supplies are not too hard to install. A pain in the neck sometimes but just make a copy of the connections and when new one arrives just reverse the process.

Turns out it was the battery, thank God! Will have to order a new one now. 8)

Whew, a battery is pretty easy fix. :wink: :wink: :wink:

I lost a hard drive once.... :oops: :oops: :oops:

Nothing funny about that. Nothing even remotely funny about that when you are not attentive to your backup procedures. :? :( :cry:

I've had that too, not fun at all. Lost a lot of data then, now have 3 jump drives to back up all the important stuff... :D
