Gents,
I just read at the ACWGC of the passing of a Club member here and good friend,
Jerry Butley. A sad loss for the Club and the Prussian Armee. He was a very involved member and a senior officer of the Prussian Armee. Jerry joined in May of 2008 and was always active and supported everything the Armee did. He always volunteered to play in Tournaments.
He was the Kommandeur der 1. Kavallerie-Brigade - Reserve-Kavallerie-I. Armee-Korps and the Stabchef der Preußische Armee (Chief of Staff of the Prussian Army). He was the rank of Oberst (Colonel) and held the Very Honorable Nobility Title of Markgraf von Lichtenberg-Mittelmark. He was a rising star in the Armee and would of gone to lofty heights in it.
He was also a member of the ACWGC and served as the Hessian Contingent Commander under me in the British Army at the CCC.
He passed on May 28 of this year and at a young age. He leaves behind a wife and three young children. He was a teacher from Texas.
His obituary can be found here:
http://www.asimas.com/ASIMAS/newhope/ob ... _id=256259Jerry and his service to the Armee will be honored forever in Valhalla, the Preußische Armee Ruhmeshalle (Prussian Armee Hall of Glory) where in Honor of his Commitment and Dedication to the Armee, his Nobility Title of Markgraf von Lichtenberg-Mittelmark will be retired for all time. He is only the seond Prussian Officer to recieve this honor.
