Gentlemen Officers of the NWC:
We have encountered instances in the past where officers used untraceable Gmail addresses to register duplicate profiles thereby receiving multiple commissions in the NWC. While most of such duplicate registrations were not really harmful, there have been instances of them tying up the limited time of our club trainers for an officer that had previously been trained. In an effort to reduce the number of such duplicate registrations, and better allocate the limited and valuable time of our trainers and administrative personnel, the majority of the NWC Cabinet has approved the requirement for all new cadets applying for a commission to provide an alternate, traceable email address in all instances where they intend to use a Gmail address to conduct club activities. This will allow the club administration to review the IP Address of the new recruit to ensure that it does not match the known IP Address of a previously active officer. For all intents and purposes, this will not affect any existing officers in the club. We will simply modify the Recruitment Forms for the armies to require the provision of an alternate, traceable (i.e Hotmail, Yahoo, or Other) email address upon a new recruit's request for training.
As this is a simple administrative matter, I did not think it warranted a club wide vote, but do feel it is my duty to keep the members informed of the Cabinet's Administrative decisions.
I have set this post as a Sticky Note for a period of seven days to allow time for all active forum participants to read it. Thereafter, it will revert to a Normal Topic and move down subject to further posting inactivity.
