In his games, John has universal artillery ammunition, and wagons for small arms. I think he got that backwards.

I'd like to see infantry just have a percentage change of resupply (or universal amount like the current arty ammo that just gets used when needed to replenish a depleted unit), perhaps set in the pdt file to allow designers to reflect a specific situation, and I'd like to see the wagons carry ammo for artillery...one size fits all for simplicity. That might keep players from using their wagons as moving shields if they knew they'd be placing thier precious arty ammo supply in jeapordy.

(For the new kids in town, remember to ask the old timers to refrain from using supply wagons as moving shields. Some of them will do that if you play with no house rules. Those that do that take "no house rules" literally and most of them (those that use wagons in that manner) won't apply what others may see as common sense restraint on how to use said wagons. FYI.)

Back on point I think had John switched those two items around we'd see a much more interesting game.

Sounds entirely reasonable to me. :P :P :P

By the way, Al, I refer to that tactic as the "Quartermaster Attack"!

Besides, haven't you ever seen the old Western movie entitled War Wagon? It's about a tribe of Apache Indians that lay siege to Washington DC by surrounding it with a massed gathering of covered wagons. The Indians lose in the end, despite their masterful seige, mostly due to the fact that the President is played by John Wayne with Clint Eastwood playing his Secretary of Defense.

It was going so well for the Apache until one of them retorted to the Duke that he was engaging in "pretty bold talk for a one-eyed fat man". At which point Clint Eastwood yelled back at the Indian who made the comment, "Do you feel lucky, punk!" Man, I gotta tell you, it really went downhill for the Apache from there.

Another reason I always like to use MOE rules.

Ed do you insist on embedded melee in 10min moves? 15 I totally agree.
