Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

Hi to all,
My request - if anyone wants to play and will often copy and upload the file to write the game, please do not respond to my posts. If I reply for a post of someone who does that, please ignore my reply. Example - now I play a game, in which my opponent has changed, many times since the beginning, of the file name. But ok, let it be. But the last answer shows something very strange. My last file, I sent to him, was named "!1813.bte" but it has returned to me as "!1813(13).bte". This will be my last turn now. I'll demand to surrender in present turn and if not I delete the game. BTW, what is funny with playing ( whatever winning or loosing) if we will play many times the same to have goooood result!!!

Awhile back I posted a batch file to save two generations of saved and received file games (or more if it were modified). That would prevent this problem, when I upgraded to Windows 7 I noticed that the default was to rename files rather than overwrite.

I'm still on XP:oops: ( the old things are going better) and again . In XP if the new file is downloading from e.g. e-mail and there is already the file with the same name, the new file is saved but with the next number. It's normal thing. But how many times and what for to copy such file
several times?

Never mind, I misunderstood your complaint (i.e. cheating).

I just installed a utility to make the Windows 7 Windows Explorer more like XP (Classic Shell). I am not looking forward to upgrading winblows with it installed, although since I didn't have to reboot after installing it must not have made any changes to system files.

Computer problems came up when games started going to Temp files when playing with others who have different computers renaming games to keep them from going on is not bad if you ask a person may I. Giving fingers is not an has never been in this club the whole time I been here till now. If we are polite with one another games will be better. I have played the same people for years win or lose it's just a game and not a point of manhood or Superiority. When this club stop being fun and becomes a test it's not a club but a proven ground. I have lost 20 games in a row to a Moss and never had a problem with that. Now it seems everyone wants to be top dog by pick and choice. I say play all games and see how good you are don't pick a game because it gives you the advantage but pick it because it learns you.

I would like to say that my gesture, which I wrote in the post, it should not be on this forum and in this club. Therefore, I apologize all members of the NWC for my behavior. As for how to use repeatedly the same save game, my opinion is unchanged, and this person knows what I mean. I have all his saves and there is nothing to comment anymore.
