Perhaps in a symbolic gesture, L'Empereur would detail one of his beautiful daughters to serve as a horse-batterie (being top gun and all) in your cavalry brigade.

Very well deserved, Marechal Bardon. You are a gentlemen warrior whose skill on the battlefield is rivaled only by a very select few. A most excellent choice to serve as the Commander of the Vieille Garde of France. Although, from my perspective, your efforts in the service to your Emperor are most detrimental to the successful outcome of these wretched wars, I do accord you the utmost honor and respect of an adversary that appreciates your true worth.

I salute you, sir, and hope that you will safely emerge from these wars to return home to your family where you may live out your remaining years in peace and comfort, far away from the tragic killing fields that now so fully occupy our attention.

this pale, drab powder blue ribbon does nothing for my uniform,

Now back to the field, if I hope to try and keep adding to the tally (although the way my opponents are grinding my forces to pieces on a number of fields, that is in doubt).
