Congratulations to Al Kling who has not only been elevated to the Chief of Staff of LGA this week, but who has now been appointed to our Cabinet as the new Club Secretary.

This has to set some kind of club record for meteoric advancement! I would think it to be unprecidented.

Congratulations, Al, for your most excellent contribution to our club. I look forward to working more closely with you in the future.

Open the bar, Helga, our officers need to celebrate!

Wow! The fumes from all of the open wine bottles in here are surely getting to my head!

Congratulations Al, huzzah!

Yet another toast (hicc) in your general direction!

Helga, if there is anything left best bring it here quick, before the lads have drained every last cellar and keg in the premises.

If you need more, we can always organize a competitive search party of Tirailleurs and Jagers to scour the local environs for more spirits.

Regards,

"Do you know what my very favorite drink is, General Kling?" asked the Hanoverian Commander.

"I believe I do, sir", replied the newly appointed Chief of Staff. "Your favorite drink is that infernal Jagermeister!"

"Close, my dear General", replied the Hanoverian officer as he poured a shot of Jagermeister from his ever present bottle. "My very favorite drink", he said as he raised his glass to his LGA counterpart, "is Jagermeister that is paid for by a French officer! Cheers to you, sir, you have my sincere congratulations as well as my thanks. My liver, however, does abhore you."

As a member of the club I am curious how many other members were "nominated" and why the fact that "nominations" were being taken this wasn't conveyed to the membership?

As both Chuck and Paco where of the LGA, I nominated Al Kling. That is not to say that the Club secratary is always a French officer. We needed to fill the void fast and Al actually expressed interest even before I nominated him.

"Needed to fill the void fast" why? what calamity would befall the club if the alleged void wasn't filled fast? Did it need to be filled so fast that it had to be done in secret? I wouldn't call it a nomination since it was more of an annoitment without consultation from the general membership or the heads of the other armies.

Secretary General Kling,

Congrats, I know you will do a fine job as you have always been an admirable opponent on the field of battle.

My best,

Why are the heads of the French and Anglo- Allied armies given seats on the cabinet while the heads of the Austrian and Prussian are armies left out? Why can't the Russians vote?
