Gentlemen Officers of the NWC:
Gary Whalen recently resigned his commission in La Grande Armee citing a general loss of interest and other personal reasons for his decision. His action left seven officers without an opponent with whom to finish their ongoing games. This is an all too familiar situation that he has duplicated in the past. To make matters worse, we intercepted two attempts by him to reenter our club under false names. One occurred just before he resigned his commission, the other just after.
I placed a post in the Cabinet calling for a vote to ban Gary Whalen, in all of his various forms, from any future membership for life. It did not take long for the other members of this body to unanimously vote in favor of my proposal. Gary Whalen is banned from the NWC in perpetuity.
Over the course of the past year, we have developed a very reliable system to detect such fraudulent applications. We are most diligent in our screenings and proactive in our investigations when we spot a suspicious account or activity. I would ask that the lesson of Gary Whalen not be lost on any who may be reading this post today. If you attempt to enter our club under false names and pretenses, there is a very high probability that you will be caught. My best advice would be to refrain from making such an attempt. It will not be beneficial to your having a long and prosperous sojourn in our club.
