First day I was recruited by the Queen of Prussia after my escape from Italy where the Emperour of the French tried to have me poison. I was to join the Prince of Orange Kavarly Corps as his senior advisor . We march from Erfurt headed Northeast with all his forces.

First day 1806
Word has reach the command that the Saxons who are under orders to move to a prearrange location. No other information was given on the first day of battle ! The Saxon commanders are General Tauentzien and ZeschwitzImageGrade du Korps 1806
Prince Louis Ferdinand Commands the Advance Guard that is located near the town of Saalf the main bridge that leads to the Saxon Army. Image
The battle started early in the afternoon the French legers over ran 2cannons that were trying to blow the bridge up. All of our poor Artillerymen were killed and the cannons captured. A small sq of the 3/1 Saxon Hussars were Guarding the bridge was also attacked and overran by a combine force of French Legers and light Cav. Leaving a door way open for the French to attack the Saxon Army on that side of the Saale river .
The French legers were the advance Guard of General de Division Suchet his 17th Legers and the 9th Hussars.

I took up position with the Prince of Orange staff we were moving as fast as the light fog would allow. The Prince asked me “how was it that you a French Haitian was in the Prussian Army and did I feel out of place”!
I told him that after Italy and the large sum of money I found in Egypt was paid to Bonaparte; we came to a misunderstanding that he did not like.
Bonaparte Image Said ‘‘that he would shot a General as well as a drummer boy for in such conduct’ ’
The only reason am alive today was that fortune that I found.
Image When I was in Italy some of the officers that I escape with helped me make it to the court of the King of your country and introduced me to some young Kavalerie officers they called themselves the young guns or if you will the Garde de Korps.
They where the ones that brought me to the Queens sight!
He asked me did I give Bonaparte all of the fortune.
I told him would you!
He laughs!

The command consisted of Quitzow Heavy Kavalerie, Reitzenstein Heavy Kavalerie and the Pietz Hussars the Kohler Hussars
I was sent to Command one of the best Regiments in the command which was a surprise to me the Leib Carabiniers#12, I was brought to this august Command by his Majesty himself Prince Wilhelm Oberstleutnant. He personally told the Command that I was a man that this command would be proud to serve under and that if any of the troopers which were all of noble families did not want to serve under a Haitian they would be dismissed and given dishonorable discharges …
I would have five squadrons to command. Image Image
