What is so great now is that each member of the cabinet knows who voted what. Maybe it would be fair for all of us to see the full report since we are all equals

I roll on the floor laughing when our agent enters the hallowed cabinet room in only her cuirassier boots, Hussar pantaloons, a front cuirass, suitably adorned headwear and a 'devil may care' smirk ...they will fall over themselves to divulge all they have .....

Is there any effort done within the club to try to get as many people as possible to vote so we can get a better representation of the club?

I have heard many time that 90% of the members voted in favor of the rules... In fact we have big majority that didn't do anything.

Oh Dear
That's the Dove of Peace shot by a musket ball.
So all that did not vote would have voted with you Mr Guegan :!:

No no.... That's not what I am saying, I am not trying to start a fight or whatever. I was just thinking about the vote results.

And what is striking from it is that we have 51% who didn't vote. That's all. I think as a club we should do better. I am wondering if anybody has an idea of what could be done to improve that result.

You see in the French Army we muster every quarter (the next one is soon by the way) and we do our best to get as much officers to participate to the muster.
The lowest level of participation to the muster was 79% from one corps and we had an average of 85% of participation.

I imagine as a club we should try to get the same level of participation.

Point taken David

The British General Election does not have a very much better turn out, I thing the word "apathy" springs to mind

50% is an exceptionally good turnout, quite possibly the best turnout ever witnessed in the NWC. Certainly by far the best I have ever seen in my four years here.

The members were contacted several times during both the discussion and voting period and encouraged to participate. Incentives were also offered (35 OBD Pts.) for those who voted.

We would certainly welcome new ideas to increase our voter turnout, but this really is a very good turnout considering the number of people in our club who just want to play games.

Yes, David has a point. Emails and reminders were sent out. It's impossible to get some people to engage no matter what. It's not a language thing, I'm sure of that. It's a mixture of apathy and inactivity I think. As Jim points out, in real elections turnout can be very low - in our last one our area had just 18% turnout. So 50% is very good. Those that do not vote can't complain if things don't go as they wished. All you can do is cut your suit to the amount of cloth available really. Musters are not popular but it's high time for another allied one I think.

Well, I was thinking that using the voting system (and I am not talking about the poll option)that comes with the forum would help vote. The vote would be anonymous, we could vote only once and we wouldn't need to send an email to all the cabinet members.

I don't think it's the right way to reward voting with monkey money, I am talking obd points.

In the French Army we do the muster on the forum so every member of the French has to go to the forum in order to being able to muster. That in itself help people remember their password as well as the army password.

Votes in the forums can be manipulated. That works fine for a Muster Response, but not for the truly important votes. We have to be able to verify each voter so that we know the votes are valid. The Cabinet Vote Counting System was introduced by Scott Ludwig in 2011. It is a much more secure and reliable method.

Explain to me how someone who is not in the club could vote since only members can be in the forum?

[edit to add something] and I don't think regular members have access to the options so they wouldn't be able to do something.
