Hi Trane,

One way to accomplish this is to open a version of the game under Normal mode without FoW (this allows you to view both opposing forces), then look under Units in the tool bar, at Schedule which shows the reinforcement track.

You have to recognize the leader names of various Corps for the sides, which will let you know what commands will be arriving, and then open an OoB file (which the games typically include) and view the listed strengths there.

Sometimes the games will include an OoB file for various scenarios as well, but not always.

Does this help?

Regards,

Which begs for the designers to develop a "Quick Battle" option that lets you pick your forces. I know these are old games, new for me. So when I play I know the enemy knows all about my forces. I on the other hand am playing blind.

In order to find the particular OOB of ANY scenario, open the scenario file in any text program, such as NOTEPAD. Then you can look into the actual OOB file for that scenario.

Indeed, that is one way to do it - but I get tired of doing all of the math with those individual unit strengths listed (I wish the OoB as shown in this manner would provide totals), which is why I prefer to find out what forces are present, and then look at the OoB scenario file usually found in the Main Menu - where such totals are given (under strength).

But there are certainly multiple ways of going about this - and it is good for all this knowledge to be shared amongst us.

Monsieur one way that was post some time ago is to open the game you want to play then play it till all reinforcements have come in(don't move anything just keep going). It might sound time communing but you will know both side totals now you will not have the Artillery numbers just go to any listing and fine the numbers to Art Crew per that nation and year exp; Fr 1 gun 12 men

That is rather time consuming (playing the turns and bringing on the reinforcements), which is why I simply look at the reinforcement schedule, note the name of the Div/Corps commanders, and look them up in the OoB scenario file - much quicker.
