Salute!

I was just at the John Tiller web site, and noticed that on the 27th of Sept, an update for Bautzen has been released.

The biggest change I noticed is the addition of the new 2D zoom feature - also found in the Leipzig game - and I believe in the Waterloo update that came out a short while ago.

I have the Leipzig update, and all seems to work well.

I have not added the Waterloo update, as from what I have read about it in the thread elsewhere here in the tavern, it seemed that it was effective only if you had the download version of the game from JTS.

Does anyone else have information on that they can share?
Feel free to reference/add comments on that in the thread on the Waterloo update located below in the tavern.

Regards,

The HPS version of Waterloo hasn't been patched since 15 Nov 13. Can players with the JTS and HPS versions of Waterloo play each other?

Hi Andrew, as long as the players have the same update versions you can play each other.

HPS calls their most recent update 1.04b (note that your game will tell you 1.04 without the b listed).

This is equivalent to JTS version 1.05.

Hi Alexander, thanks for that information.
I will look into it.

Do you know if those are new scenarios that came with the update?

I will let you know when the issue is corrected.

Todd............are you sure you are correct............I don't think so.

I would think both JTS and HPS would have to be the same rev.....as it now stands.......JTS is 1.07.........HPS is 1.04b

this issue exist in the JTS and HPS Civil War games and the rev has to be exactly the same to be able to play others.

Hi Clint, I have the most recent HPS update, shown on their web page as 1.04b.

In my game under Help/About the game version is shown as 1.04.

I am currently playing a new recruit who has the JTS version of the Game, and it came downloaded as version 1.05.

He has not updated his game to the 1.07 version precisely because it would no longer be compatible with mine.

I think there is a thread elsewhere that discusses the different names for updates used between HPS/JTS.

The numerical titles for them can cause some confusion.

Edit: I believe I should make clear that my copies of Waterloo are the HPS download + CD versions of the game.

And as I am playing with someone who has the JTS version 1.05, it is compatible with my HPS 1.04(b) version.

Does this help?

Regards

As far as JTS vs HPS is concerned I know that some of the Civil War titles now have versions 2.0 for HPS, which makes them compatible with the most recent JTS versions. I would assume that it would eventually happen for the Napoleonic titles as well.

It is a little confusing. You have HPS purchased games (as Todd mentioned) and JTS purchased games.

It is almost a trial and error situation.

On the JTS upgrade page, it does state, for example, that the Campaign WATERLOO v1.07- Aug 2014, IS ONLY FOR THE JTS PURCHASED Waterloo. ( NOTE: Only applies to the JTS release.)

The other upgrades, for Napoleon series games, do NOT state that " NOTE: Only applies to the JTS release."

Hopefully, as time goes on, ALL purchased games from either HPS or JTS will be compatible.

I see these scenarios listed in my Bautzen game which has not been updated. They must have been overlooked in the data entry of the Bautzen scenarios. It is simple to fix.

Thanks for pointing this out, Alexander!
