within a discussion on another board the topic came to this club and what the non-member mentioned was that he had the impression the club would "seems pretty inactive".
Part of that seem to come from the old tournaments that are linked on the main page, some links are dead and some point to old tournaments, maybe it should be thought about moving them away from the main page.

He also said he can't view the forums and indeed if not logged in one doesn't see anything on the forum, just "This board has no forums.".
I thought the forums except army forums are viewable to non-members, was that changed?

Besides that, what could be looked into are both recruitment forms(http://wargame.ch/wc/nwc/Coalitionjoin/form.php and http://wargame.ch/wc/nwc/Frenchjoin/form.php) that miss the latest game, also the company abbreviation could be add as all the HPS games are also available from JTS.

The About us page ( http://www.wargame.ch/wc/nwc/NWCAboutUs.html ) could also use some work as some patch numbers are outdated.

And is the contact mail address correct? acwgc@wargame.ch
I just wonder because of the acwgc what is the abbreviation of our sister cub.

Besides that maybe a club wide newsletter with the recent changes and an invitation to re-join the club and/or forum would be good, at least the people should be aware that a lot is better now.

Yes....there is a lot in the works and everything you have cited will be edited and changed as time allows.

We are only a small set of volunteers and the webmasters are all tied up doing some major overhauls right now. Once they are done we will turn our attention to the Club site et al. I will work on a new Newsletter for the New Year.

The forum is locked off right now, as the admins are trying to figure out the right permissions, as somehow a guest was still able to post in the Rhine Tavern.

So tell them we are still active and that folks are still registering games.

It is just going to take a little while to clean up the mess we were put in, that's all. I expect it'll get even more slowed up with the holidays coming too.

So thanks for everyone being patient, we appreciate it a lot....

Scott et al are busy on the website. There is a ton of work to do and as Scott says, it's done by a group of volunteers. But I agree, first impressions count. It'll look great in due course.

Yes the ACWGC link works. John gets LGA forms and me the Coalition ones. Within the last fortnight the Coalition has acquired 3 genuine new members so clearly people are not put off! And several more have rejoined the colours in the last week alone. So it's pretty vibrant.

Good to hear and thanks to both of you and to all the volunteers that work so hard to get all the stuff done.

The ACWGC email address you cite Christian, is one of Pierre's email addresses, so that's why that is there. I'll see if I can get the forms changed, or get Pierre to change them to add in Peninsular...

I replied at the Blitz too, as a follow up. We have to be careful to make sure we also highlight the pluses of us & the Blitz, as to not diminish the Blitz too and offend them for mentioning us in our posts.

But folks are joining here, which is good & we'll get there. David G is doing a new French page. As soon as I get the three pages done for the Coalition, we will start an email campaign, at a certain point down the road, to invite folks back who have left.

Anytime folks have any questions, just ask. That's what we are here for, you the members and to make sure you all have time well spent with us....

What Scott said about the email is what it is. I am working on the Guests access. Some problems have been encountered. Will eventually sort it out.

The facebook idea is a great one Clifton. The previous Cabinet was working on that as it was put to me. I will put it to the current admin to see how to proceed.

We are getting there, piece by piece, with a number of folks communicating daily, as the work progresses. Soon the bulk of it will be done and then we can focus on other plans/ideas and keeping the ship afloat.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but the Coalition will be built in 3 weeks....
