Every one that has written Napoleonic history acknowledges this as Nappy's first DEFEAT.
Call it what you will .... An Allied army attacking on five fronts actually was able to deny the Emperor a win. And in the strategic sense of the word it was a big loss that cost the French a month and a half of precious time remembering that the Spanish campaign was just picking up with the arrival of Wellington ....
