The new bridge strength rule that is in the Gettysburg patch (and all future ACW games and patches) was also suggested by our Playtest group and added for all future Napoleonic games. It will be in my next game release (due out before the end of the year) and in all new patches for the Napoleonic series.

Basically for the Napoleonic series:

0-49 none can cross
50-99 infantry and leaders only
100-149 add in cavalry
150 and above add in artillery and wagons

Its probably the same for the ACW series but check out the Help file or test it out before you take these values and apply it to your game of Gettysburg.

We have discussed this before on the forum, I had taken it to John Tiller for this series last year and its been a part of my current project and is a great addition.

Wanted to add in that the next title will also allow units to undisorder in non-clear terrain as well. FYI. Paco reminded me of this today and I felt that giving this out wont violate state secrets.

(added by edit):
I am not sure if the ACW group had been pursuing this new rule before us - its moot and frankly I dont care who thought of it first. Its a great addition to BOTH series folks. Just a note that this post is no attempt on my part to try and make some kind of claim on first mention for this rule.
