A hint of manly cologne drifts in through the open window and the sound of an oompah band is heard marching away down the street. The door is thrust open, nearly coming lose from its hinges. The figure of a Russian don cossack blocks out the light with his 7 foot tall body. His eyes moving from left to right looking for any sign of danger, his right hand hovers over the hilt of his sword and his left only inches from a loaded pistol protruding from his belt. A voice is heard from behind this man mountain " Out of the way Ivan and watch where you point that thing, its all good fun until someone loses an eye"
"Do not fear ladies for he is with me and would the British officers please reframe from holding on to one another. Yes tis I, Maréchal Eugene, Grande Duc de Frankfurt et Comte de la Vendée, Le Commandant Artillerie a' Pied de la Garde, Le Commandant VII Saxon Corps, ect ect and step son to you know who. I have arrived" Eugene flicks a silk grove at the russian to move him aside and moves on silk slippers to a table where a aid wipes down a chair. Eugene gives the aid a sidewards glare that would stop a poler bear in its tracks. The aid immediately turns and saps his fingers and four Saxon guards men move into the room with Eugene's campaign chair. Oak with gold inlay and bright stones. Eugene removes his cape and sunks into the cushions. " You may begin"

7 foot tall cossack! Must have rode a LARGE pony! LOL

Were Cossacks that tall? Just curious. I am sure that there was the unusual but my thought was that they were shorter than the average European.

Good to hear from you Eugene. Umpah band indeed! [:D]

Entrance indeed Monsieur le Marechal Baron John Corbin, is there any other way? Come to think of it next time I will have the band do a lap of the tavern and then come in as they make their exit. Now as for your cravings, I am all yours Monsieur President but first a word to my fans.

Major Ola 'Freiherr' Berli in answer to your question, these old things, If I remember right I had them made when I was in Paris last.

General Lamezec Always good to see you my friend and I will have a double thank youImage and last but not lest Bill. I think that there may have been some ( but not many ) that were tall ( but not 7 foot ) As for my new servant Ivan he did not have a pony but two ponies strapped together side but side and he looks taller thanks to his hat with eagle and ostrich feathers.[:)]

A senior British Officer enters the Tavern. He is dressed in a plain uniform with no sign of rank but the British officers nearest the door jump to attention. The senior officer starts in the direction of the bar but stops suddenly in his tracks. "What the hell is that smell? Its stronger than horse sweat and smells like the bilge water in the drains of Moscow. Cough, cough. NO WAIT!, he yells, I KNOW that smell! Where is he? That Prince or Duc de Frankfurt or whatever he is? Bastard son of the Emperor? There he is... Eugene! Have you heard? I am collecting Marechal batons for my trophy room. When you get back from powdering your behind, send that Russian feller to my HQ so that we can arrange for your defeat on the battlefield and the transfer of all you conspicuous wealth to my estate.

Helga! I need some ale and open the windows and air this place out!

Mon cher Eugène,

Pay no attention to His Muddiness. He's a trifle out of sorts by the prospect of parting with yet another of his swords when we conclude our current engagement at Jena[:D].

Welcome back!
