So as to not clutter up the other club forums with non-related traffic I've created a new forum for this series, which can be found here, for those who are interested:

The battles are worth of making a game Al, but did you´ve seen the graphics? The guys want nearly 50 bucks for such a game but they are unwilling (or unable) to invest more time for a good optic.
Those games are not made with love for details! The machine is not all!

I don´t know how the others are thinking, but for me is a good atmosphere important too!

The low quality is in a dis-ballance with this price! That´s robbery for me! They offer a FIAT to the price of a BMW!

I remember some time ago that some said that we are here in a Napoleonic era club and that all others games didn't have to be expose here.[:(!] I was in disagreement and so, I thank Al to give us such a good news. Yes it's a good news that Hps makes also antic games.[:D]
Anyway, the game seems have a high price. Hope that the machine is excellent because, to be frank with you, graphics seem horrible. [}:)]

Once again thanks Al for the news.

Regards

General Lamezec

Thanks Yann!

I personaly would never pay such a horrible price for a obviously sloppy work! You can share my opinon or not!

If I were the manager of HPS, I whacked my programmers for this unfinished joke! Hopefully one of them is reading this lines.

Boys of HPS: Don´t try to cheat your fans!

Make better games! Or try to exist with just 10 $ for each of such games! This is the real worth for it. We don´t need a "game" with a eye-killing bad design! A good game (like BGW, NIR and PTW) is living from the engine AND the atmosphere!

Before I´m able to play YOUR newest game, I need a modder who´s able to create a real nice optic! You´re try to sell us ****! Be glad that we have some people who are able to transform your **** into players-gold! But if we need people to make this games playable, I don´t think that your price is fair!

Be thankful to the modders! Without them your company would be death long ago! Try to earn your money honestly with a good work!

And don´t try to betray the fans! When we close our clubs, you´re finished! You´re living on our costs, on our work, not in the diffrent way! And before one of you is laughing about my pidgin-english: Try to learn understandable german by yourself! [:D]

Gentlemen, sorry for some harsh words, but they´re coming out of my players-soul!

Best regards,

TOM, founder of the INWC and member of the NWC!

I see your point Ensign (though I don't agree with it), but I think I would have preferred you to word it a bit more, let's say, obligingly. But then maybe that's just me.

I like the graphics and I'm happy that HPS is publishing games from this era, no one else seems to be. Shop around, there are retailers selling this for much less that the HPS retail price.

I accept your opinion! I share it to the point that a player must be happy to found a hexagonal-based game nowadays!

But the diffrence is the product itself. Is it a well ballanced game with a good engine AND a good atmosphere? This is the basics of a good game!

Or is it a game under the motto: We´re the only publisher, so the customers will accept every sh...! Lets make easy money! They will buy a sloppy trash too!

Just asked...

Sir..

How can you slat a game before you or anyone has played it..

I am one of the testers for this game...The Graphics are better than any other HPS game .... This is a game for players that like to play a Battle Historicaly.

Anyside can win.... Not the side with more men or better men..It will be down to how you the player moves his men.....

The Engine for this game works great...And if people want a game that plays as good as a Table top game ..Then this is the one..

My self i had been testing this for over a year..and some of the other guys longer..So this was not a rush game. a lot has gone into this.....

Tom, you haven't seen the graphics to slam them this hard. New artists work for Paul, and the stuff is very good. The game is excellent, imo, but then I'm the scenario designer.

I made every attempt to put atmosphere into the game, as did Rich White who made scenarios, the two artists and Paul. All the testers chimed in as well to give this game atmosphere.

I think we have over 17 different types of trees for goodness sake!

The elephants are gorgeous!

You should see a phalanx in this game some 16 hexes wide, one hex deep. Very impressive. A Roman legion looks, feels and fights like we read about.

I recommend you investigate first before writing about something. You can email several game owners to investigate the game. They'll tell you if the game is worth the money.

I'm wagering before the end of the year, you'll be an owner as well.

I´ll wait and see Al. I´d just seen the screenshots. Maybe it´s the jpeg-quality? But´now I know why you were not very active lately. [:D]

Do they plan to sell the game in germany too for a more normal price of 29$ or so?
