Is there a patch that will allow us to play the various games without the CD installed?

No...

but you can set up one CD to contain essential files that would allow you to not have the originalk cd's in the drives.

IMO, A simpler method is:

1. Make a new folder named C:\HPS_disk.

2. Copy each HPS and BG game folder into that folder.

3. Delete ALL sub-folders for each game.

4. Delete ALL files in the main game folder you copied over, EXCEPT any ??????. EXE file. So, for most games you will have a game folder, like Campaign Waterloo four files in it.

5. Copy all folders to a CDROM. Do not copy the folder C:\HPS_disk. Do not rename any of the game folders.

6. Play away and never have to swap disks.

All my HPS/BG games were installed using the TYPICAL install and I can play the music, have the sound effects work without problems.

Once you have this system setup, ANY new HPS game can be added the same way and ADDED to your CDROM. OR you can simply burn an entire new CDROM.

You can download disc image here http://rapidshare.com/files/107078624/Nappy.iso
and then mount it to any virtual cd program, I use daemon tools
It will never ask you for password again

Ernie's method is the simplest, and doesn't take up disk space on your hard drive.

Has anyone else had problems getting scenarios to play in Napoleon's Russian Campaign using this method? I can get the campaign started but when I try to start a scenario I am asked to insert the CD.

I have problems BG Chickamauga, but NRC is fine.

But for NRC, MAKE SURE the folder that you copy to the CD is NAPOLEONS RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN. There is NO apostrophe in that title folder.

Ernie..using your method...what happens each time an update is released? Do I have to first update that game and then burn an all new updated CD?
