Some Prussians rode by on captured British horses (or was it Hanoverian?) down my cul de sac. I pointed them to Lubbuck and off they raced like wild banshees.

Where is Scott Ludwig, the chief schnitzel maker? Where can he be?

Oh there he rides on Wellington's horse! Seems that Scott lost a stirrup and the kindly Duke gave him his steed (mount, horse, cayuse whatever).
