Sir Muddy has graciously given me the opportunity to win my Baton back (reading below, he must have quite a collection ![V])at the Designers scnenario for Eckmuhl.

The French are sadly taking quite a beating from Sir Muddy's Austrian supermen, but when I check the "strength" tab, I see we are at 90% strength. I was shocked, seems more like 60% !

Does anyone know how this is calculated ? Perhaps because this is a custom scenario (very enjoyable one, I reccomend it highly to anyone interested, despite our bruising by the bully Sir Muddy [B)]) it cannot make the strength calculations correctly ?

John - what units are at reduced strength to start the battle? I just looked it over and didnt see any. Maybe I missed some.

I noted that the Austrians outnumber the French by about 15k. FYI - something I may have overlooked when putting it together with Al and Charlie.

Uh, yeah, I could use a Division of Guardsmen right about now thank you [:p].

Seems like all of Davout's divisions are there in strength as is the IV,VII and VIII Corps. There are two of II Corps divisions as well as a Reserve division. Must be Oudinot that is missing, although Lannes is there with a ton of Heavy cavalry.

No guardsmen either, other than those attached to the 2nd Division of Massena's Corps. I am not very familiar with the OOB for the Eckmuhl game though so don't take my word for the above.

John - the Guard was still marching up from Paris and only arrived for the later portion of the 1809 campaign. They were not featured at Eckmuhl.

Not sure why we left Oudinot off. Could be that a later version could add them in.

My original post, though, had more to do with the strength percentage that is displayed on one of the tabs.

I have always assumed that it was adjusted as various units take damage during a scenario, but after 80 turns of this scenario, and us taking quite a beating, it still shows the French army at 90% strength.

The II Corps 1st and 2nd Divisions, whose courageous defense of the Saal highway left them to about 200 men, still shows on the strength report as being at 88% strength.

Just doesn't seem right.

The percentage shows the percent of your army that is not disordered.

So 90% of the UNITS you have left are in good order, and 88% of 2e Corps' remaining UNITS are in good order. Good order defined as not ROUTED or DISRUPTED/DISORDERED.
