Greetings gentlemen

It has been many months since I last posted here and it warms me to see so many familiar names still here.

I can assure you, I have <s>not</s> been completely idle during my absence, and enjoyed a much needed break. However, I now find myself ready to take up my sword once again.

But who to serve?

As a soldier of fortune I am open to bribes from all sides and, when my decision is made, I will bear arms for that side in the battleground games and/or any of the add-ons I can lay my hands on.

In the meantime, my purse is over-flowing and in need of lightening - drinks for all please bar-keep!

Let us be the first to say Welcome Back!! [:D] Prussia would be glad to buy you a drink and something to eat...now why do you say you should join Prussia? Why just read our advert:

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="3" face="book antiqua" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><center>Image

<b>The New Blue is Black!!

New Officers Both Recruits and Returning</b>

For all ages of these lands stand the prominent one of them all. I speak of Prussia. The Prussian Armee is one of the best chances to make something of yourself in this club or a cool place to relax and disappear from the masses and have some fun if that is your style. We are a low key force that tries to have fun and encourage good gamesmanship and positive additude. We don't require you to be constantly playing games. We don't pester you every month with musters. We don't wipe your existence in the Armee and club away. Our pages kept up to date and offer more than just a gaming HQ with research and historical links too. We offer one of the best medals and promotions system. Not unweildy rank points nor medals based solely on victories. Our medals are exstensive and easy to get, but also a fun challenge. We also have plenty of openings and room for growth.

Listen to these words:

<i>"To advance was impossible, to stay where we were meant certain death, and with our goal so near everyone preferred death to retreat. Our difficulty and danger were growing all the time. Eventually Gaseback [Friccius' adjutant] found a weak place in the wall, to the right between the gate posts and the poor-house. I grabbed the rifle of the nearest Landwehr soldier and battered in the thin wall with the butt. It soon collapsed, because several of the men gave us vigorous help. As soon as the opening was large enough, I jumped through the breach and shouted to my troops, 'You won't abandon me, will you??'

On hearing my call, Captain Motherby leaped to the front and holding up his sword called out, 'Comrades, follow me'!!"</i>

Thus was the brave words men of the 3rd Landwehr Regiment!! All up and down the lines our great GFM was heard to have said: Vorwärts meine Kinder!! That day, that famous day at Liepzig!! General Vorwärts carried his undying quest of Honor and Glory to crush the little corporal!! General Vorwärts would carry the day time and time again!! Fearing nothing and no man!! Death Looked him in the face and he Laughed!!

<b>Vorwärts Meine Kinder!! Vorwärts!!</b>

So if you want a nice little place to have some fun, relax, play games check us out.

Feel free to e-mail too:

Who knows maybe you will be the next Blucher, the <b>only</b> man who was never afraid of old Boney!!

You know what they say. Once you go black you never got back!!

Besides we played a major part in 2 of Napoleon's 3 defeats!! Like today!! [:D]

This message was brought to you by the Council to Find More Prussians!!</center><hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

I think you can see there is plenty of growth for a fine skilled officer as yourself and plenty of fun to be had as well. We are also going to be rolling out even more awards soon to recognize our men with.

We maybe small, but we are the wave of the future! [:D] Afterall we were first into Liepzig and we won the day at Waterloo!! [:p][:D] What else could you ask for??

Thank you Scott

I will take a bottle of the St Emillon liberated at Dresden in April of 1813; and for food, a selection of Pomeranian wurst.

Gladly will I wear the black and serve Wilhelm to rid his lands of my former comrades.

Naturally, as a soldier of fortune a small consideration will be required, paid in Thaler, directly into my swiss account; also, a small holding with vinyard on the banks of the Mosel and a batchelor pad next door to fraulein Fifi's in Frankfurt would be expected.

In anticipation of your acceptance of my terms, a completed application form is winging its way to allied HQ as I type.

Your potential, if mercenary, servant...

Mark,

That can certainly be arranged, the Pomeranian wurst is just freshly cooked right now, by Cookie my own personal chef.

We are excited to have you join our merry band and I will send a dispatch rider to the Congress of Vienna to find your paperwork. Sometimes the courier for the Congress gets lost.

We will gladly pay a couple thousand Thaler a month into your account, after all British money has good exchange! [;)] We have a holding on the Mosel and will throw in as a treat a Castle on the Rhine as well and a Saxon Horse Breeding farm for you.

Next door pad, no, not needed, we have convinced Fifi that whenever you are in town to just allow you in to stay with her. If you prefer other ladies we shall have an apartment at San Souci for you! [:)]

I trust you shall enjoy your time with us and we will do the best we can to care for such a fine officer!! [:D] Shall I dare even say a Parisian Chateau if you do well for us...[:p][:D]

Ah, my cher marechal Beecham

How it warms the cockles of my heart to see that marshals baton in your hand. You have served your emperor well I see.

The days of burning my feet marchimg hither and thither across Europe, shouting "Vive le this" or "Vive la that" while grubbing around in ditches or trying to distract a dragoon so I can bag his horse for a bite to eat are behind me now. I feel the need for a more leisurely pace, to match, for example, that of the wurst wagon.

Besides, just as I was putting the finishing touches to a, dare I say, most ingenious get-rich-quick scheme on the spanish Costa-del Sol (selling time-share apartments by day to the English, and providing a pool-side 00:00:01 o'clock towel placement service to the Prussians), my men and I are hauled across Europe to the cashless steppes of Russia.

Here, between the Beresina and Moscow, I lost 95% of my multi-national sales team, not to mention a brace of toes and the shirt off my back - metaphorically speaking. To cap it all, the diminutive corporal lost most of his treasure and I have been without pay for many a day. I must therefore look elsewhere to line my pockets if I am to become as rich as a Rothschild.

So, while I thank you for your offer, it is the lowly life of a leutenant for me, where I can plot and scheme to extract cash from the English, by purchasing beer kellers in the Munich area.

<s>General de brigade</s> Oops - old habits die hard, I mean of course,

Brigadier General Barlow

Thank you for your warm welcome; it is good to be back after so long an absence.

I am greatly looking forward to the challenge of commanding units that I have previously only seen the backs of. I see my first goal will be to stamp out the apparent tactic of firing over the shoulder whilst running from the field.

Hmmmm! Dragoon Guards eh? Perhaps I could hold your horse for you while you have a wee rest [:p]

As I say, old habits die hard [:D]

Regards

Mark

So you have chosen Prussia; In England, if one takes the King's shilling, then one dare not be found under the arms of another nation -- at the risk of their life. But if the King of Prussia has no problem with your past, then neither do I.</font id="orange">

And to be fair to Muddy it was Jena-Auerstedt twin battle which favours the French a little I think. And that was under patch 1.02. It favours the French more under 1.03 I think.

I am fighting Marechal Bardon at the moment in this same scenario playing as Prussians and it is indeed tough. Although Sir Muddy I believe I may have worked out the correct strategy to give the Prussians the best chance. It is patch 1.02 though.

Helga more drinks for my friends please and bring out that New Zealand wine please!

My Dear Eason...

What could I tempt you with that would bring you back from the sausage eater camp?

Surely the Prussian swill they use for libations is enough to drive
you away from them ?

Why join a kingdom where the horses look better than what passes for women?

Why join a kingdom clearly run by "The King's" Wife?

Does not the Marseilles tug at your heart?

Must I defeat you on some field to bring you to your senses?

Mark,

Welcome back.

Too bad the omnipresent Prussian recruiting staff persuaded you to join their side. I mean, really, "the new blue is black"?
