Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC)

Just a thought here. I have noted in several discussions that there is sometimes some confusion about the topic, due to differences between the two game engines (see the article about skirmishers for example).
I purpose that when you start a new subject, you preface it with either BG or HPS, and then we try to keep commentary within that engine, i.e. if we are talking about skirmishers in NIR, PTW or W, let us not discuss how skirmishers work in Wagram or Eckmuhl, and vice versa. If you are discussing something in Waterloo, specifiy which Waterloo engine you are using, and don't bring up the other.
Obviously there may be some issues that are generic. That is fine, but if you start getting engine specific, please restart as a BG or HPS specific discussion.

Hear, hear. As a newbie that would be very useful to me, particularly since I only have HPS titles.

Minor segue: I've found a lot of good info on playing the BG games (e.g., tactics, rules compendiums, etc.). Also, there seems to be some undocumented features in the HPS series (e.g., skirms being able to overrun wagons). Have I just not found the right source for HPS info, or do prettier maps and cavalry countercharging rule? [;)]

From what I have seen this really isn't much of a problem. The specific game is almost always mentioned as everyone knows that confusion can reign when it isn't.

Skip, you'll find pretty much every BG/HPS tactics article there is on my website. You can find a link in my sig. Admittedly there arn't many HPS articles but there are ~60 articles in total so you should find something relevent.

Which reminds me I should update the site sometime...
