Greetings,

I'm new to this forum, and somewhat confused.
When i tried to submit the LGA recruitment form, my outlook opened new empty mail addressed to bobcandoit@comcast.com. I've wrote something, but i'm not sure if i did the right thing, and haven't received any email in return.
I've send personal message to one of members, who happen to be my fellow countryman (Polish), asking for help, but i thought that i could ask for some pointers here also.
Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated,

With Regards,
Rafal

Sorry about the problem with the form -- but if you want to join any of the four allied armies you can send me an email at bobcandoit@comcast.net and we will get things started.

Bob - when I had tried to join the French army some time back the same thing happened to me and I didnt get a reply from you after sending the email (as I thought I was supposed to do).

Question: do you get these emails from the guys like me that try and join and if so what do you do with them? Trash can or are you forwarding them to someone on the French side?

I wish that someone would fix the form. Its obvious that I am not the only one that had this problem. John, Yann, whoever, can this get corrected soon? I would hate to think we are losing new guys because of a minor admin boo boo.

Regarding Bill Peter's comments.

There are two separate forms that people use to sign up. I don't know who the form for the French Army goes to, so I can't comment about that.

The Allied Army form is maintained by Stuart Wilson. When completed the form goes to Stuart who forwards it to me. If it is for the Austrian, Prussian, or Russian Army I forward the material to the contact in each. If it is for the Anglo-Allied Army I set up the training for the cadet. The form used to come directly to me, but around the first of the year some problem developed and it was not able to be sent directly. I can't speak to what the issue is.

Periodically, we have on occassion seen another problem. When someone fills out the form and submits it, it does not get sent to anyone. I'm not the expert, but I believe the issue has to do with either some non standard settings associated with a person's browser (or how the browser handles forms). I believe the problem is also sometimes seen with people who use one of the less popular browsers.

With regard to emails related to joining. Generally a response is provided within 48 hours, of course that is dependent on being connected to a computer -- it may take a few days to actually set up a training game. In the last three years I think I only recall one person who filled out the Allied Form and wanted to join the French Army, and yes he was put it contact with the French.

Although the author of this thread has an incorrect email address for me -- its comcast.net not comcast.com - he appears interested in joining the French Army and has made the connection.

The Anglo-Allied training job, aka RMA Commandant, is in transistion. Effective June 1, Andy Moss is going to take over. We are in a transistion period at the moment.

Bill

In great lines the form system is the same than the one described by Bob. I received directly the form.
Well, for this case, it's true I received a form without mention a week ago. I thought that it was a try from Stuart and as I was in a busy time I recognized not to have take the time to contact Stuart. Neverthless Rafal posted his call in the Rhine on May 24th at 5/04 pm, he had an answer at 5:42:21 PM and was assign immediately.

Anyway, I will test the form myself and will inform you immediately of the result. And Bill, if you have any question about french army, you know my email[;)] My tent is always open for you as well for any french officers for anything at any time.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox v2.0.0.3, and i've checked it again. The 'Submit' button on LGA Recruitment form opens Outlook with empty mail addressed as i've noted: 'comcast.com'. Strange.
But thanks to Yann, i have been recruited to LGA and i'm awaiting my first training.

When I first signed up I got the same error. An email comes up to Bob.

Pretty much what I was saying before. It must still be giving some kind of browser error for Netscape.

I understand it works fine for IE but hey, not all of us use it ...

Why should it direct someone to email Bob?

Bill

Please send me the url of the form you used. In my knowledge there is only one but I want to verifye because this story become to make me silly.

I have sent myself forms and I received them. I asked John to do the same and I receive forms he sent. But when you or Rafal try to do it, it seeems the form doesn't form.
As I received myself the form from LGA, I don't understand why you have outlook opened with the email of Bob. So my hipothesis is that you go in a wrong url (I want to say an old form that we forgot to delete that you access not by the main page of NWC).

So please try again and tell me by email
the url of the webpage you use
what you do exactly (push button, ...etc)

With your text may be I shall have an idea of what is wrong. I shall contact Stuart also but we need of your help (Bill, Rafal and all those who wants to help) to solve the problem.

Regards

General Lamezec
