I am embarking on the first steps in a pretty significant change to my future. I am to begin training so I can teach English overseas and that requires a lot of my free time.

In short, I will be leaving the NWC as of July 1, 2012. No more games.

I gotta say that the last 10 plus years have been awesome. I have had the honor to be a part of the greatest club. You guys are the best. I have even met a few of you at the last Tiller con.

The French army has been my home and please believe me, I will miss it. The esprit de Corps, the banter, the chance to command and help it grow have been my greatest passion.

The army will continue to grow and prosper because of great leadership and because some of you will step forward to help out.

To those who I have faced on the field of honor, please treasure my many batons in your care :D.

Thank you all who have made my time here so enjoyable.

Very sad to see you leave us, John. You were the first, and only, Club President that I had ever known. I know you have enjoyed a far longer career here than I, and I have heard some great stories of your tenure. You will certainly be missed.

Thank you for the games you played against me at Austerlitz and Quatre Bras. Both were fun and I greatly enjoyed your fine company. I wish you the very best in your new venture. I actually support your efforts far more than you probably know. As fate would have it, both of my parents held Master's Degrees and Teacher' Certifications in English. My mom even spent some time teaching foreign students here in the States.

Best of luck to you, sir! [Salute!] :P :P :P

Good luck, visit when you can. Will you be going to Bayou country to teach English to the Cajuns? ;-)

Enjoy your new posting. A friend of mine did that in China, Thailand and Cambodia. He readily enjoyed it and now is going to be a full time missionary in Thailand.

Stop by and say hi and safe traveling!

It was very nice meeting you a few times.

It sounds like you have embarked on something that could take you many different places in this world.

Good luck with all that you will do.

Yes. Good luck for the future. You'll be missed here.

I first started playing the guy 13 years ago in the old Nirproject pbem club......long time. Always an honourable opponent.

Marechal Corbin:

Sir, we do speak English here and around the Empire -- the King's English badly but no need to leave. No, really, thank you for your commitment to the club and for all the time that you gave so that the rest of us could enjoy the games and the nights at the Tavern. Please come back when you can. Best.

We wish you the best in your exciting new endeavor. Thanks for all you have done for NWC and La Grande Armee.

You have described it as home, so remember that there is always a place for you here if the future allows.

Happy Trails,

Chuck Jensen

John,

Your steadfastness of service over the years, often taking on administrative tasks that others could not, would not or were incapable of handling, has helped shape the club and the Armee into what it is today. Others have said it, and I offer my thanks as well. Best of luck to you in your endeavor.

Regards,
Jeff

<salute> Sir.

..silence...for a few seconds while we are looking each other in the eyes.

No words can be found.

You get on your horse, one last smile...and that's it.

Damn, you will be missed John.

Return home any time you can. You know where my orange tent is.
