Allied opponent wanted to play Jena / Auerstaedt - Scharnhorst's Campaign Plan - Alternate Version of Jena-1. This is a 160 turn battle which I intend to play through the last turn. I would suggest all Optional Rules be on except the following: Manual Defensive Fire, Rout Limiting, No Retreat Overruns, Partial Retreats, Line Movement Restriction and Multiple Infantry Melees. I prefer use the Masters of Europe IV rules but will not play with embedded melee. I am only able to accept one battle at this time and will fight the first serious Allied opponent.

Regards,

Wow, 61 views and no challengers, most disappointing. It seems that Chef de Battalion Schmidgall was right, the Allies are, for the lack of a better word, "SHY" about playing Jena-Auerstaedt. Too bad for I really want to try my luck at this battle.

I really do not understand the "shyness" regarding this scenario. It seems to me that the Prussians have a fine fighting force with plenty of excellent heavy cavalry. Each of the three scenario selections provides the Prussian Army with good interior lines and plenty of good terrain to defend in or attack out of. There is only five objective hexes worth a total of 1,300 points and the French need to aquire over 2,000 points just to AVOID a Minor Defeat, not and easy task if you ask me. The French need to rack up 4,000 points to acheive a Minor Victory which may prove impossible!

I am just a lowly Chef d'Escadron with minimum military talent and minimum combat experience and even I can see an excellent strategy for the Prussian commander to employ. Heck, the more I think about it, the more I wonder why I want this battle. The truth of the matter is because I really like these types of battles where there is a few deployment selections as well as room for maneuver. I find these fights more fun and challenging than the multitudes of fixed positioned fights that we have available.

Surely there is a brave Allied officer worthy to take up my challenge and defend the honor of Prussia!

Regards,

Matt, not shy. I have five games right now. I'll play once I clear one of them off, but it will be awhile they're all big games.

Greetings Major Amos,

I will be honored to do battle against you. Now then, if we can just get our schedules to sync up enough to allow it to happen. No hurries, I'll try to keep a spot open for you. Please email me whenever you are ready.

Regards,

Hey, I like that attitude!

Now if I could just get more Frenchmen to adopt it, I might be in business. :P

Don't be so quick to say Allied officers won't play Jena-Auerstadt. I'm engaged in a campaign at this very moment and I didn't also have 2 other campaigns going with that plus some playtesting I'd take you up.

Sir,
I would gladly take to the field against you, but, alas I have only two HPS titles, Leipzig and Napoleon's Russian Campaign. If you would desire to meet on either of these two titles, I am Ready and willing.

Field Marshall Sir Mark Nelms K.G.

Tis a pity sir for I am sure I would learn a lot while you gave me a sound thrashing for my impolite though well intentioned comments. Perhaps one day our paths shall cross on some battlefield somewhere, until then, I bid you bonne chance!

Regards

Lieutenant Peccolo,

I would consider it an honor to do battle against you. I think I may have time for another battle since it will probably be a while until Major Amos gets around to making me his next victim on the fields of Jena. How about something out of Napoleon's Russian Campaign? Please send me an email with a few scenario suggestions and your desired rules and we shall work something out.

Regards,
