I was just reading Osprey's Lutzen & Bautzen 1813 and was wondering if we have any titles or scenarios dedicated to this time frame, that being the Spring of 1813 before Leipzig? I do hope we will see this time frame covered, if it is not already. Battles such as Luckau, the Siege of Hamburg, Lutzen and Bautzen would be fun fields of battle to War game on. Maybe, more realistically, an expansion pack to Leipzig with these battles of early 1813 included would be more feasible. Unless of course I am missing something and this time frame has already been covered?

I hope so, I have always found the drama of Spring 1813, with the ad-hoc and untested French army vs the resurgent Prussians and the victorious and experienced (and tired, with a lot of fresh recruits) Russians....Nothing from HPS and only a few old NIR Project games that are not up to snuff...

You are telling me you payed $40 for a game of 1813 and it didn't have the early victories of the Marie Louise's shame !

Cliff,
1813 has Leipzig, Dresden, Katzbach, Dennewitz, Gross Bereen, Hanau, Wartenburg, Hagenburg (is that the right name,)Leipzig on a huge map (that stretches well past Lutzen), Dresden on a huge map (those last two are multi-day operational scenarios), Davout's battles, and the Danish portion of the campaign. It also has two other action from Napoleon's retreat. It also has many campaigns. It easily has 3 to 4 times as much content as Waterloo and more than any other game, with the possible exception of 1812. You could buy this disk and spend 3 years just playing the historical battles. It has tons more than Jena. And the French have a fighting chance all the way through....

Because of all the potential content, Bill and John made a concious decision to split 1813 into two parts. The same as they did with 1809. I'm under the impression the spring will show up someday.

Clifton,

As has been pointed out there is so much content in the Fall '13 cd that it is worth the price charged. I don't think there is even any homemade scenarios out there yet, that's how much game it has!

Another way to look at this is to compare what has been in HPS/Tiller games: whole campaigns and whole wars. In the 1809 titles we got battles in Italy too. In the old Talonsoft games, you got one battle (ok, Bull Run had 2). Previous games, such as the classic SSI Battles of Napoleon, shipped with 4 scenarios! SSI and others in the 19080's and 1990's made games covering one battle. Norbsoft and his predecessor did the same thing. There are some exceptions to this (Civil War Generals, which I never played), and Age of Rifles (which had some really bad scenarios-the whole Franco Prussian War was really poorly done and the Russo-Japanese War was also done really bad). So the amount of content and the quality of it AND the customer support has been fantastic with these games, IMHO...Sure, I was a playtester for Austerlitz and 1814, but I think my opinions here are pretty objective. By comparison, for $40, we get a ton of content...

As for "bang for the buck", I would say that ALL of the HPS & Tiller Napoleonic titles are extremely great value. Seriously, where else can you blow your brains out for so many hours / days / weeks / months for $40. And they even let you have the capability of designing your own scenarios fairly easily, to boot.

I am a great fan. I own every title out so far, and will (without flinching) by anything else that comes out in the future.

These games are fantastic! Keep them coming... you have a loyal customer here.
