It is October 14, 1805.
Elchingen, Bavaria.

For some time, Marshal Ney was watching through a telescope monastery hill and positions of Austrian infantry. He didn't see what lies behind the peak. What forces? What will they do? Is a retreat without a fight?

But first need to get this village, by this stream - thoughts.

He signaled the frozen hand by sleet.

Said: En Avant!

From the bridge spilled out skirmishers 6 Infantry Regiment, and the columns 39 Infantry Regiment of the song on his lips evolved toward the foe...

Mais pas d'oignons aux Autrichiens,
Non pas d'oignons à tous ces chiens,
Mais pas d'oignons aux Autrichiens,
Non pas d'oignons, non pas d'oignons!

#05A. The Battle of Elchingen (HTH)
HPS Austerlitz.

Ps. Of course, I have no intention to offend anyone. Respect. It's a game.

After an hour of fighting, one battalion of Austrians fled, the second battalion of the general Ulm surrendered to the charge Hussars! Over 500 infantrymen! For the price 19 cavalrymen!

Marshal Ney said:

Ah! La belle vie que l'on Mene
Dans les hussards, dans les hussards!

and added:

Keep the attack!!

Cannonade was increased slowly and the smoke covered the monastery hill.

Meanwhile...

The French troops are entering to the deserted monastery town!!!

Disciplined, steady step hollow echoes the narrow streets!

En Avant! - shouts the commander.

Vive l'Empereur!!! - echoed by dozens of soldiers.

During that time...

Surprisingly, over the hill came out three squadrons of dragoons surprised by Austrian infantry column!

The earth trembled!

About 150 fell under the hooves of horses!

The struggle approached to the walls of the monastery ...

The Austrian commander attempted to cut off the French!
Infantry in white uniforms moved forward!
Forward! Faster! - one Austrian waving the hand!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AadRwQS1Eog&t=1h43m55s

But the attack broke down in the fire of muskets voltigeurs and linear infantry!
More than 180 have died!
To counterattack! - cried the Frenchman!
En Avant! - echoed by the soldiers!

The smoke hid everything ...

The French rushed off!

To Attack! On bayonets! Beat the Austrians!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AadRwQS1Eog&t=41m9s

The columns linear infantry hatched few hundred Austrians!

Marshal Ney saw everything through a telescope!
La Victoire est à nous! - said.
Vive la France! - echoed staff.

A battle were still ongoing...

Marshal Ney did not hide his satisfaction, but also nervous! Becouse the smoke obscured the battlefield!

He spurred his horse and his staff approached to artillery batteries under the monastery town! Sadly passed dozens killed, wounded and stragglers.

But above the plateau, whole battalions in hundreds ... no, no, that's impossible! Frenchman saw in the telescope ... in thousands of soldiers in white, but gray of combat uniforms went into captivity!

Austrians with muskets to top cried, "Pardon, Pardon!"

Over 2000!

Approaching the culmination of a fight! - Michel thought!

Hurry up! - shouted to the staff by salvos cannons, issued a final order to attack!

La Victoire Est À Nous!

This is the end!

The plateau had left outside Elchingen another fresh squadrons of French dragoons ... right on retreating in disarray battalions of Austrian soldiers!

GM Hessen-Homburg surrounded by the ruins of the monastery, seeing no chance of rescue, gave up!

FM Riesch through a telescope to see how the French soldiers abduct carts with ammunition, decided to surrender!

Infantry fire fades!

Parliamentarians with a white flag come up to the French position.

Capitulation!

Marshal Ney accept it! Officers with swords, regiments with arms on the shoulder and under the banner gone to the rear.

A thousand Frenchmen lay in the monastery, and around 5,100 Austrians.

In Vienna, the Emperor Napoleon at the news of winning the marshal gave the title of Duke of Elchingen, opera took place in the evening!

In Elchingen sleet is over ... the sun came out!

Ps. Descriptions such specific AAR (After Action Report) will never be more.

No, no, Al! The battle is over. The Austrians have surrendered. Surely you are not advocating the ruthless slaughter of prisoners!

Oh, you devilish French fiends! You grow more and more like the heartless demon that sits upon your throne every day.

Peaceful repatriation and humane treatment is the only honorable way to proceed from this point.

All kidding aside, congratulations on your victory Cezary. I would buy you a drink to celebrate but that would be.......well........treason actually! I cannot afford to take such a risk as Field Marshal Blackburn is very unlikely to miss twice!

Thanks, Cezary! You are a fine officer from what I hear, fighting on the 'wrong' side of course, but there are a lot of fine officers in the service of Nappy B in our club. :P :P :P
