I was looking for an opponent to play with the campaign of Leipzig.
battle to be agreed upon, we will be able to use those rules of the last tournament, but we can change it, if it doesn't go well.
Regards

Sir,
With pleasure I'll give you the battle. Please choose some of the scenarios, I think we have quick agreement for rules and which one.

Oberstlieutenant Ciampoli, Capitaine Nosko, salute!

Adam, I have had the pleasure of engaging Stefano in quite a few games (and one on-going).
He is an excellent opponent to engage upon the battle maps, and I can assure you the fight will be tough.

Stefano, I have enjoyed having Adam as a member of the Tirailleurs et Dragons!, and find him to be a great source of information about the Napoleonic era, and these games we have so much fun playing.

So, I tip my shako to the both of you, and look forward to hearing about your battle.

Regards,

Hi Stefano,
I think we can start from some small or medium scenario. I have a suggestion to use such method - one of us choose scenario, the second will choose the side. I agree for tournament rules, but I like to use also embebed melee phase, but it's optional. On the other hand I'm rather against CPTF rule and want to off it in Optional Rules menu. Do you agree and please in such case decide if you want to choose scenario or side?

Hi Adam
I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean by choose the side?
Please forgive my naivete, but I can't figure out. ...

Hi Stefano,

Adam is suggesting that one player picks the scenario, and then the other player get's to choose which side to play in the game.

In other words, you could end up playing the French side if you pick the scenario.

Some players follow this method.

Regards,

Hi,
Thanks Todd, this is exactly what I mean, I hope you do not read all of my thoughts  :D :D :D
I think it's quite nice way to set balance for both side. Each of us will play usually his own side, I mean I play French you will be still on the dark side,   but if you want to try something better you can choose French. I put below list of some scenarios, in my opinion these are balancad and both side have similar chances to win:
- 002. Action at Löwenberg - I've never lost in this till now (both side so consider it as a bit difficult due to my knowledge about it)
- 004. Ney at the Katzbach - a bit easier for Allied due to better quality of major forces
- 043. Hagelberg: Where are the Cossacks? - quite interesting, small forces, I've played it once, a lot of luck needed for both side to win :)
- 066. Wartenburg: Yorck's Victory - more difficult for French, but interesting
- 068. The Battle of Liebertwolkwitz - good scenario for changing history
- 090. Leipzig Operational - French Reinforced - INMO the best huge Leipziger scenario in the game, I'd like to play it later after finishing changes in it, especially well suited for MP game
- 109. Rearguard Action at Freyburg - nice
- 111. Rearguard Action at Kösen - nice too
- 119. The Battle of Sehestedt
- Bonus 4. The Poles at Hagelberg - a bit bigger version 043 with additional forces for French and Czernichev's Cossacks for Allied but those are fixed- could be nice
- Bonus 8. Action at Altenburg - interesting
- Bonus 10. Danzig: Assault on the Hills
So it's enough for now. Would you like to choose scenario and give me the possibility to choose side or whether not change sides?
Regards

Baa, ha, ha...... oOooo, thats a good one (or two). Please to choose either one and I shall choose to play French. One is French Guard against class C Prussians and the other is a pitiful bridge crossing fight in a town that I don't believe the Austrians can win, let alone achieve a draw.

A challenging fight is 055 Zahna or 046 The Battle of Kulm, Day 1. 119 Sehenstedt can be a good challenge also, depending on the experience of the players.

Far be it for Hanoverian officers to think alike, but I had much the same thoughts concerning the list of scenarios proffered.

The reason I would not have a problem with Adam's suggestions is also for the simple fact that I would choose to play the French. I am a supporter of the 'You Choose the Scenario, I Choose the Side' Method of front end negotiations. This encourages the Scenario Chooser to select wisely. The key lies in knowing how to properly assess the scenario to know whether or not it is truly balanced. It is not nearly as simple a fact as overall numbers. Not even in the ballpark.

The great advantage in this method is that it provides both players with perspective. This is something that I think we rapidly lose in this club when we take our army affiliations too seriously. By this method, both players will come to appreciate a balanced game. We have a lot of scenarios to be played, but in truth, most of them are quite unbalanced to one side or the other. In my experience, this by far favors the French, which is the main reason I love for a French officer to choose the scenario and let me then choose to play the French. There is simply no better fashion that I know to properly impart perspective.

There is no exists ideal balanced scenario, unless we create a mirror image of the area and the fighting forces, in addition from the same army.
That is why I preffer such method, to choose scenario by one player and side by his opponent. In my opinion is quite fair.
I know that maybe it's not good example but in MP SON 2012 scenario, French army is in minority as I suppose, definitely lower quality of its unit and there are some guards battalion among Prussian units. I don't notice such comment, that this is unbalanced scenario and INMO there is similar chance for victory for both sides. We don't panic because of guards units

Hi Adam
I ask again, sorry but I didn't know that you could choose the side to play with, well I learned something new ...
I'd rather play with the allies.
Do not think bad, I love the French, I am part of a French line Regiment, the 113°, and reconstructions of the Napoleonic battles.
just that I'm also a PatternMaker and early sketches that I did were the Austrians and since then, I've been interested in the Austrians, however, so as not to get bored I chose:

068. The Battle of Liebertwolkwitz

Regards
