Ensign Richard Bradshaw
you are very good with words, but not with the facts.
this is the report of what happened after your nice words that everyone can read.

Your first message:
Allessandro,
I have taken up your challenge for a lesson in combat in Borodino. Send me a turn and we will be on our way to glory. I am good for a turn a day most times. Good luck and may your powder be all wet!

Hi Richard
I understand the reason for the misunderstanding, I was issued a challenge
for the scenario 07 Kutuzov turns to fight, while you recorded the
scenario 06 La Bataille de Borodino:
S2013F0132
Game type Fight
Game Napoleon In Russia (Talonsoft)
Scenario name 06. La Bataille de Borodino
Scenario file name BD_A.SCN
Max turns 48
Registered by Richard Bradshaw

Status Started

There is a significant difference between the two scenarios, in fact in
the Bataille de Borodino the French can not use the Guard.
It is like fighting with one hand tied behind his back.
But no matter, I accept the challenge.
I prepared the file, good luck.

This is what you have answered:
I put it in the BD folder of Napoleon in Russia

Now it is Sunday 17:16 pm of 09 giugno 2013 Rome hour
but of you there is only the dust that you have raised

I have sent an email to you to hopefully correct this injustice. If it works we can get this battle going.

I also see the errors of my ways. You wanted to fight a battle within Borodino. I mistook it for Borodino the battle. My excuse is I am new to the game and the twisted, confusing, irritable turns one has to take to get this older game to fly confuses me.

Your servant,

There is only one way into the club to solve disputes between officers,
a good beer and a honest game.
I pay this beer , the next the winner.

If you want an easier time of it, you can buy the MATRIX version of the games. You get all the BG Napoleon games in one package AND the work fine with all Windows versions and are completely compatible in games vs opponents that use the older Talonsoft versions.

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/321 ... eonic.Wars

Plus, there is one update to the MATRIX games, if you do get them, at: http://www.matrixgames.com/news/513/Joh ... re.Updated

Note: A special discount is available if you purchase this title together with Battleground Civil War! See the Buy Now link. If you are into the ACW, also.

He may be busy plundering the thousands of my dead troops. He can be very meticulous.

A very painful loss at the hands of this French commander. I was starting to make advances in the north but was losing most VP's. I still had a good number of troops still in the fixed position. Lost two corps that were fixed and ended up surrounded. A strong attack by Alessandro. A worthy opponent! Now where is that spare sword?

Salute!

Lieutenant Bradshaw, a well written post mortem, giving due respect to your opponent.

I fully commiserate with your lamenting the fate of your fixed troops.
In a set piece battle where fixed units are not released almost immediately and therefore left exposed to the deadly affections of the foe, no fun at all, and nearly always a game breaker.

I will avoid such scenarios whenever possible.
These use of fixed forces are typically to be found within the absolute historical version of a given battle.
Many of the famous battles recreated within these games will be found to have alternative versions without fixed units.

My consolations to you (and I offer you a drink to restore your fortitude) and my advice to find that new sword, and set yourself upon another battle map!

Regards,
